Good to see Neil and good that you mention the round-trip connection with Inventor. Something I might use even tho I concentrate on Inventor.
Looks useful btw when you have multiple avoid bodies, like a swept volume of the brake calliper, the ventilation opening like you had and then add in the width limit to make the spoke less vulnerable to kerb strike, etc.
good tutorial 👍
Wow…that didn’t take long!
Kudos Neil!
Thanks Neil
Interesting tool, I didn't know it before. Thanks!
Nice!
When you create a polygon the focus defaults to the dimension. You can press tab to go to the number of sides if you want to be the quick cool hotkey guy.
Aye, habit with Inventor, the first input is number of sides and the dimension comes after
Thank you, that is an interesting feature. Tho, in this case i would still stick with loft and sweep :D
Yes :)
Great to see tutorials from you again. You know the content and know how to teach it! I teach high school. Should I switch from Inventor to Fusion???
Probably should be asking, which of these two will Autodesk be focusing on over the next 10 years and which one will be phase out?
Yippieh! Tutorials! Nice. I hope It works out. I recently stopped watching your stuff, because I am seriously mad at Autodesk, who first sold me a fusion 360 Professional license in 2020 - although I would qualify for a start-up license, I wanted to be sure, that the feature set stays the same as the one that I purchased - and then took simultaneous 5-Axis milling out of the license to sell it as the machining extension. I have a written pledge, that exactly THIS wouldn't happen, If I buy the professional license. I was working on a desktop sized 5-axis CNC machine back then - and I had to get sure, if this would be in there, because it was at the time of all the hassle with the personal license etc. I had to bury that project, because Autodesk lied to me. This cloud enabled Subsriptions are a dogs ass. You could never be sure, if functions that are currently included are also included even a month from now. I paid almost 1300€ for a 3 year subscription and they cut the very feature they promised me to have.
What's the purpose of this tool? Create place holders?
My former engineering past screams... constrain everything... That will not work !!.. at the end of the video: that is pretty cool, import it to Inventor.
Hi, I'm new to this channel, Fusion and computers. I'm not new to designing wheels. I've designed and manufactured wheels all on a drafting board. Could you help me understand the importance of this video? I'm trying to find a simple program that simply just works. Makes arcs, splines, filets etc instead of what I see as very unnecessary tools and information. In the end the wheel is either casted /machined, forged / machined or just machined. Drawing in 2D should take the place of my board and the main computing job should only be to write a tool path and do fea. Thanks!
Fusion can do exactly what your asking for, this video is about this new ish feature
