I’ve only been waiting 15 years for this knowledge…
Right!
woah, 15 years??! ...ever heard of ultimate-guitar.com? lol...for real though, sing the sorrow has been tabbed out on there pretty thoroughly/accurately for just about that long.
@@johnnydrunkagain3817 all the tabs are close, but wrong. I used to use the site back in 06-07
Yeah because I don't think I've ever seen an accurate tab for Days of the Phoenix.
Man Jade is still so fresh sounding. His riffs are timeless.
Unlike yours.
@@Twobarpsi wow, why you so jaded, man?
@@vladv5126 coffee and beard shampoo, not my style... lol at the jaded, nice!
Gibson, AFI, and Fluff all together in one place. My favorite guitar brand, one of my favorite bands, and one of my favorite RUclips channels. Its a good day.
I love thar you appreciate Jade's guitar work. Keep doing what you do...you know, now that I gave you permission xD jk jk ^^
Jade was the guy who made me want to buy a Les Paul. Transformed AFI’s sound into something technically mesmerising.
That alpine white les Paul 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Jade is such an underrated guitarist to everyone but AFI fans. This dude is insanely talented as a song writer
100.
Только как автор песен. Как гитарист у него все очень плохо
he is college educated which helps he has a 4 yr degree
@@WhAT-Without_A_Title1 im surec he smokes you
One of, if not, the best at blending rhythm and lead guitars into one guitar simultaneously, especially for a punk guitarist.
Jade Puget is the definition of a single guitar creating a full sound. And what amazing creativity he has!
Girls not grey's riff is just tiemless, magical and haunting, and revealing how he plays it its just like a mistery solved to me. Thanks jade and gibson
Massively underrated. The guitar work on Sing The Sorrow completely captivated me when it came out as I was first learning the instrument.
Such an inspiration. I learned so much from trying to learn his songs. Amazing riffs, excellent solos and incredibly memorable songwriting.
Coming back to that album, half a lifetime later for me, I’m really surprised at how intricate and thoughtful his playing is. I was also really surprised to find that many of the things in my bag of tricks actually came from me trying to emulate Jade as a beginner guitarist years ago.
You rule, Jade. Thanks for everything.
This man is Gibsons only hope of me paying full price for a Gibson anytime soon. What a legend.
Jade is actually really good at teaching, I wonder why he doesn't do more videos like this? Either ways thanks Jade and Gibson.
Always thought that Jade's way of writing and playing was pure genius, every time there's a video of him playing clearly in front of the camera it's so majestic
I’ve been waiting over half my life to see what Jade actually plays for days of the Phoenix. This is awesome
6:50 My man straight said, "If your guitar doesn't have a nineteenth fret you probably need to take it back and get a new one." Jade is the man and his riffs are so full. I love how he talks about his approach to song-writing as the only guitar player in the band. Great setlist (if you will) here, also! I always heard Hunter as the primary driving force for GNG, but Jade seriously knows how to color a song. This vid gave me a whole new appreciation for Jade's contribution to the band. Yo does so much - it's insane!
Following AFI for 21 years and Jade being my Favourite guitarist ever I can officially say this is the best video I have ever watched. I’m especially proud of myself that self teaching myself these riffs over the years that I was actually pretty close on a few of them !
One of my inspirations for buying a Les Paul Studio 🤘
So so so underrated. Nobody ever brings up Jade idk why
This video is a dream / treat :)
Jade is one of the best composers in the game IMO, just incredible writing throughout his whole career.
Man i will always love Girls Not Grey. Such a kickass song from start to finish.
Dang, always slept on him as a guitarist. Dude is great! Underrated for sure 🤘
I love Jade's signature sound. He is lord of the fretboard!
This is phenomenal. Jade is such an influential and original guitarist/songwriter. His riffs sound so full and thick live like multiple guitars- but its just him…blazing though his amazing riffs going bonkers all the while! Long time fan and their new album- like all of their albums- is just phenomenal like this interview. What a cool guy. Thank you Jade and Gibson!
When I was growing up playing guitar in bands Jade was one of my biggest inspirations. In my personal opinion I think he is one of the all time greats at filling space and writing amazing guitar parts as a single guitar player. And he just looks so awesome on stage. I still watch I Heard a Voice quite often.
Saw AFI on their summer tour 2006. One of the best shows I've ever seen.
One of my favorite guitarists, great songwriter! My favorite riff is probably the intro to "A Winter's Tale" and the entirety of "Girl's Not Grey".
I've recently re-discovered the Sing The Sorrow album AND bought a Les Paul Studio. Gibson, it's almost like you knew? Jade is amazing.
Synchromystical
Jade was the guy who made me want to buy a Les Paul black Studio, 15 years ago and still my most favourite guitar today
The Days of the Phoenix riff is one that every pop-punk band wishes they had written.
He writes like no one else. I remember when I wanted to learn AFI songs and looked up the tabs, I could not imagine how someone could write this and play JT live so perfectly…all these years later I still feel that way 😅
I have always wondered about what Jade sounds like. I don’t think I’ve ever heard him talk before. He kind of stayed in the background of interviews and stuff. He’s a musical genius and I’m glad to see him doing well.
I have been playing a very long time and I would say Jade has the best total dynamics and song structure/composing ability of any guitarist I know of. I have learned a lot from his playing over the years. He's an amazing guitarist.
So awesome. He inspired me over 15 years ago. Brilliant song writer. His speed of Barre chord switching and accents are amazing. Such a huge tone. AFI is imo one of the best punk/electronic bands. Everyone is talented. All the albums are unique and great. Jades addition takes them to another level. Sing the Sorrows is an amazing album, full of great riffs. This band should have always been bigger imo.
Awesome to see Days of the Phoenix broken down, I love that riff
That AFI sound still gives me goose bumps every time I hear these licks. Love your style Jade great leason🤙
I have never been able to play a jade song at 100% , he maybe make it look so easy, but its not jaja , i love AFI and definitely Jade is such an amazing guitarist, riff writer and one of my favorites since i was a teenager , well done! ... the days of the phoenix , my favorite as the art of drowning album 🖤🖤🖤
This is EVERYTHING. Thank you, Jade.
It’s only now just dawning on me how much Jade’s playing has influenced my own through all those hours listening to AFI as a kid. Really cool of him to do this and very fun to watch. Thanks for sharing.
Same here!
One the best guitar riffs of all time, 100 words.
This is fantastic. What a creative power house! Love your work Jade!
I’m 46 and in aww. Wish I could play even half as well as him. Art of Downing is such a good record.
This is such a bad ass video, Jade is the man. MOAR please
This is amazing! Thank you! Jade is one of the people who inspired me to start playing guitar again after a roughly fifteen year hiatus.
Phenomenal guitar player and songwriter! Thank you Gibson for this video!
His tone is unbelievably good
I love this guy’s work. He’s not the best-known musician, but that doesn’t make him any less great. Sing the Sorrow is one of my all-time favorite albums for guitar, even 20 years after it came out.
i know we all remember the summer '06 when Decemberunderground came out & we wondered how the hell to play that last part of Endlessly She Said. thanku jade
Summer Shudder has never reminded me of “tired of being alive” by Danzig, but man, now it does. Love that!
Jade is such a cool relatable dude. AFI in general is just a really cool band
So many classic riffs, jade is awesome
Jade really shaped me as a guitar player. I always find myself going to inverted power chords, melodic parts and really wearing my pinky out. Black sails, all hollows, drowning and sing the sorrow are all essential listening.
A lot of his riffs call back to call children as well.
That list of albums are sacred to me. Always loved the haunting spirit on the notes and sounds as a whole " feeling".
Fall Children. Im a metal guy, but had the luxury of growing up so isolated I had no clue about genre separations anyway.
Jade is such a great and creative songwriter and player. He's unique in his style like The Efge.
Thank you Jade and Gibson! Can't wait to jam with this sacred info
AFI guitar parts are legendary
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I'm in love right now. Jade's guitar parts stand apart so much from everything else. They're dark, fast, articulate, fairly sophisticated especially for his genres and THEY SOUND GOOD!! AND FUN!!
Live he's awesome ❤️❤️❤️
this is amazing. AFI and Jade Puget have always been my favorite band for about 20 years now. They got me into music, period. Jade is the reason I wanted a les paul and love their tone. His approach to writing is beautiful and inspiring.
Literal goosebumps when he started to play DOTP
Jade is the most expressional rhythm guitarist ever
The flat 5th on the C is one of my favourite sounds ever….it’s excellent on the D as well
The tapping in the intro of The Leaving Song pt.2 was the first tapping riff I've learned and played live. Since then lots have changed, but I still love jamming some AFI songs. Thanks for being an inspiration, Jade! Long live AFI!
Awesome finally one with Jade, well deserved!
Love the new album Jade, keep on rockin'!
Fucking love dancing through Sunday. The combination of the riff with davie's voice is so good
This is literally the best thing. Thank you for all the music, Jade. Time to start painting again. 👽
Jade is a great and under appreciated guitar player. This dude really showed me how to break away from barchords and start taking a more interesting approach to playing and writing. If you wanna known to use minor scales he’s your man 😂
Holy shit, this is SO much better than I expected (and I had high expectations!)
the verse riff in Silver and Cold is so amazing, love the stop and harmonic ring-out soooo much
First time hearing this dude speak. He's so soft spoken.
"Let's slow this down so we can see how I play this riff like a lord" -Took me a second to process this comment but it had me cracking up 🤣
Thank you Jade!
Thank you for this Jade! 🔥 🎸 🤘🏼🤓
10:30 I love this song omg!
My best friend shit himself at an afi show back in the day. My favorite show I’ve ever been to still to this day
Man the Endlessly She Said bridge is otherworldly.
(responding to my own comment about the Endlessly,.. bridge) damn, he accidentally played the same high beginning part the 3rd run of that where there's actually a variation, it's probably hard to remember when you're slowing it down. He plays it right when he's showing full speed but the camera doesn't show his fretting hand I don't know how he manages to ring all 3 notes out like that. I only know how to play the singular notes 15th-14th-12th fret on the high e string.
Saw him play this at riot fest and it was incredible. The solo and everything was perfect
Awesome stuff! Never noticed how much Dancing Through Sunday riff sounds like Fall Children
Thanks Jade!
Top 3 favorite guitarist ❤
Dude for real though, I'm just flipping through old songs, longtime musician here, and AFI comes on, takes me back to being 8 years old and they're one of my first favorite bands, listen to summer shudder my favorite song at the time, think to myself, "damn, I want to learn to play summer shudder", go on RUclips to watch some live videos, and this is in my recommended. Lone and behold. Summer shudder is in the song list.
Cosmic.
Side note way to go Jade you're the man super clear and directed songwriting approach! Love it, learned a lot, thanks man!
He will always be one of my favorite guitarists of all time because he does always keep me interested by changing the shape and color and timing of the riffs. It’s literally what keeps me coming back to AFI is to feel all the grit and complexity that his playing adds to what should be “3 chord punk songs”
To me, Jade is up there with any of the legends.
I remember when I learned the into to leaving song pt 2 and how it made tapping make more sense to me. So much nostalgia in this video, jade was what I aspired to be when I was 16
Thank you for this!🖤
Bruh .. I just got done watching some half naked guy play At A Glance on a blurry cam with questionable audio quality and now I'm here .. thank god
Awesome thank you 🎸🤘😎
I would have loved to hear "Too Late for Gods" one of the most underrated afi songs of all time... maybe someone here can play it 🎶🖤
AFI is that band that can change their sound with every album and still sound original
I agree. Absolutely love that song
He's amazing!
Got goosebumps hearing jade playing the intro to the leaving song pt 2
oh my god i'm so glad i found this, i loooove Jade's style
Fantastic and timeless tunes all around. Would've loved hearing some riffs from more recent albums, some of the music Blood and Crash Love is some of the prettiest I've ever heard - Snow Cats, End Transmission, White Offerings - though Missing Man is one of my recent favorites and I was glad to hear it!
Finally!!
Instant chills
Jade is the author of my Les Paul love. Next one is gonna be a ebony classic. He inspired the foundation of my playing
Don’t care what anyone says Sing the Sorrow is THE one
Yeah, I'm witchu.
Liam, you know music! Respect!
Def maybe
I wish this video would've come out when I was 14yo
Jade showing JadeRiffs AND a Prophet 5 sitting behind him? perfect vid
Love watching Jade play. 🤙🤟
Always love afi, it's surprising how much influence jade's style of playing has imprinted on my style with open strings and speed. Very under rated player.
Legend
The most underrated guitarist in punk imo
I love afi always have since I first heard them I learned a bunch of their songs and I used jades techniques in my band the pedal tones the inverted chords bar chords all that I learned from his songs back in the day also I like how he tabbed a lot of his songs back in the day love that about him
