iPhone 6 is basically Obsolete which it's last extended update in Jan 2023. iPhone 6S is still legendary and a big improvement although app support is diminishing.
I’d say if you get a iPhone keep it until support ends like I had my iPhone 11 for 4 years now and I’m happy with it but as soon as support ends I’ll get the 15 or maybe the 16
