No, it’s not a let down at all. There’s a market for people that want a small and compact premium camera. If you need a fan, bigger view finder, 2 cards slots. Well, this camera wasn’t made for you.
Appreciate your review but it's pretty obvious this camera is for travelers or serious hobbyists who want a quality image in something small. On the video part I think you're exactly right.
you know, i wanted to upgrade from my a7iii to the a7cii, because here in europe it costs 2499€ and the a7iv is 2817€. i feel like the a7cii specs wise is better than the a7iv, but the 1 sd slot, no anti dust shutter and 1/4000 mechanical shutter are kind of pushing me back, i cant say micro hdmi is an issue to me simply because i dont have a monitor but i feel like in the future, it might become a problem. (i mostly do video somewhat seriously but do photo as a hobby sometimes) i wanna know peoples opinions, what should i do?
@@SpencerreichI agree with the features on the a7cii but I like the body and some of the specs on the A7iv that the a7cii doesn't have, it makes me very confused😅
If you already own an A7IV then no, otherwise yes. Debated between the A7CII and the ZV-E1 and the 12MP on the ZV-E1 was the deal breaker for me. It’s just not built for high detail photography.
i RETURNED the a7iv brand new still in box for this cam just to find out the a7iv might actually do 60fps downsampled from 6k where as the a7c ii doe less
@@k1ttyyh It's a great camera, don't get me wrong, I have it. However, if you're pro-pro you want dual slots card slots. You cannot afford to have messed up cards where you lose your material you are paid to produce for clients. I have several in the field backup methods, so I use Gnarbox (that could die any day and the company is in limbo) and Rav Hubs and multiple things like this. I even read on Medium some company that screwed up with A7Ci like this and had to scramble to go back to Europe to redo everything, and made terrible work under pressure.

I agree! There is a very specific market that this is made for. Thanks for the comment!

Let's not forget about the lack of mechanical shutter
Would anybof you use this for music videos?

A7cii or a7iv for long term?
It looks like the A7Cii has a lot more use of AI tech, but I do like how the A7IV isn’t compact.

@@refan2021 totally. It really depends on what your looking for. I am a fan of full sized camera’s personally.
Do you own one?
Nope!
Sony keep dropping new niche cams and not updating their flagships😢
Ok this is a funny comment
I've seen the overheat test and the a7cii is still better than the a7iv especially if the a7iv's screen is closed it will heat up faster

Are you considering it?
It’s not for me! But I like that Sony is dropping cams
100% only for hobbyists, and who are professionals as a side hobby.
Why so ?

1:47 Doesn’t the A7c II have 7 stops of stabilization, (an upgrade from the previous models’s 5)?
Bit late, but for anyone stumbling upon this video and wondering, it's 5-axis (movement directions), 7 stops (stabilization amount).
Im from europe and the tax makes the a7c cost the same if not more than the a7iv so nope nogo
Oh wow. Yea that’s insane 😂 I’ve heard some really good things about the A7iv
A little vacation no one will know the difference.😏
Youre basically reviewing this as only a video camera. Btw your audio quality is harsh :/
I did emphasize a lot of the video features. Still has great photo qualities.
Yes! This video will be the last time I use a shotgun mic for a review!
@@Spencerreich Good response, well taken sir :)
