Why would you need this CarPlay & Android Auto module box?

hi i have a 2012 volvo s60 and my infotainment system has been spamming out. question 1 do you think it will fix the spasming problem (apparently its a very common problem with p3 generation) and question 2 in the link it says for 2015 and up but your video says 2011 and up so is it compatible with my year?

Hi! Once you enter CarPlay mode, do you see the AC infos such as temperature, blowing intensity, etc. over CarPlay or do you have to leave it first?
