  • Matt Damon says that while the band U2 and his onetime neighbor Bono are featured in his new documentary, "Kiss the Future," the film is really about how the band elevated the voices of survivors of the siege of Sarajevo in the 1990s. "Kiss the Future" is in AMC theaters February 23rd and streaming on Paramount+ later this year.

well, since you are from Bosnia,, can you explain,,?? pls. i still don't understand ? it was a Muslim vs Christian situation?? Is that right? And who were the Muslims and who were the Christians,,,, These are the locatons i've heard of 'Sarajevo
Capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia. i don't know what started it,,, what happened,,, i've tried reading about it but it seems So complex,,,,,,, and Who are the Slavs????? why did Yugoslavia 'disapper',,,,,can you explain what happened pls?? i would surely appreciate it.

@@JustMe-gs9xi No it wasnt't muslim vs christian situation. I have friends, orthodox christians and catholics whose fathers fought for Bosnia. What happened was that Yugoslavia was a too strong socialist country, which frightened the capitalist west. So when Tito died, the west took the opportunity to spark the hundreds of years old flame and convince the people here that they actually don't want to live together. So Yugoslovenian countries one by one started going their own way, and Serbia, with Belgrade as the capital of Yugoslavia, didn't want to let go, but they mostly didn't want to let go of Bosnia. They asked people in Bosnia to not separate to stay in Yugoslavia with Serbia and Montenegro, but Bosnia declined so Serbia attacked and tried forcefully to make us stay. And the west watched while we were being slaughtered, just like they are watching Palestine's being slaughtered now. For more info, you can check the documentary Weight of Chains here on youtube. There are 3 parts, but the first one is the main one 😉

Vrlo jasno vidim razliku izmedju srbina i cetnika, balije i muslimana, ustase i hrvata. Fun fact and fun story here - while visiting Sarajevo, my guide there told me about U2, and then he asked me who's my favorite band, as if he knew what the answer was. I said Iron Maiden. And he told me about how Bruce Dickinson came to Sarajevo during the seize and performed. It's also interesting that the Dayton Agreement that ended the conflict, and in my humble opinion, a genocide, and a result of a piss poor power struggle of Yugoslavia after death of Jozef Tito, Dayton Agreement mostly authored by Joe Biden (wow full circle here), we give negative movie stars and musicians how they shouldn't get the coverage, but here and there, they do use their fame to shine a light on a little known, or even a forgotten conflict that we can all learn from.

It is not Jozef, but Josip Broz Tito. Also, it was not genocide but a bloodiest three side civil war - your opinion is not humble it is lame, biyas, and wrong - therefore, dangerous. Only comment on subjects that you actually have knowledge about.

It was a genocide, in 9 cities: Srebrenica, Prijedor, Doboj, Vlasenica, Foča, Višegrad, Rogatica, Bratunac, Zvornik... and complete ethnic cleansing in many other towns and villages. They killed 100 thousand people (70% unarmed civilians) and rap3d 50 thousand girls and women (many of them by multiple monsters over months and years of captivity). And the worst part is it was done by so called "serbs" who are actually Bosnians, orthodox christians, who in their minds switched nationality and started calling themselves "serbs", like they were immigrants from neighboring country Serbia, and they're not. They are traitors of their ancestors and were operating under military command from JNA army HQ in Belgrade, Serbia, who ordered genocide in order to steal territory of Bosnia. Those traitors now hold 49% of Bosnia, temporarily. But not for long. They will soon try to annex it, merge it with Serbia, but they will fail. Bosnia will prevail. Bosna=iliria is the first and oldest civilization in Europe, DNA haplogroup i2a1, from which all white people of Europe came into being, in the last 30 thousand years. And those "serbs" exist for 200 years, since year 1818. when they changed their names servs (slav3s) into fake "serBs", they don't have identity or history or historic right. They switched to Bosnian language in 1888. and in 1908. started calling it "servian language". They lie, they steal, they fabricate and kill. Ultra-nationalist monsters.
