Let us know how you get on Rich. It's not a replacement for hillshade, but as an overview tool, brings a lot to the table.

I'm fascinated by your tutorial, can you tell me if I can do the same on my Mac book or would I need to buy a windows computer.

Hi Amanda, thanks! Have a closer look, that vid was made on a mac 🙂. Platform doesn't matter, QGIS is completely opensource and available on mac, linux, PC, whatever you fancy. I've even run the software on a little Raspberry Pi Computer. Start at the beginning here with the 'getting started in under 15 mins' video and work through: ruclips.net/p/PLyVEerc-3iK-FB30MDtHwbJkrdZEKwHRc

Hey, that's great thanks matey... 🙏 I'm 'up and running' now with QGIS, thanks to you (and Cleggy), and will definitely try this great Slope feature on my new permission. Thanks again, Bobby :). Ps. I have a cheeky Q if you don't mind... I'm trying to add an XYZ type layer to show the old Tithe maps (Cheshire). Apologies if you've covered this - but any chance you could help me find a suitable link/URL or similar? Thanks again, Bob K 🦜

No, that's fine. It's a video I haven't added yet. So, some local authorities make tithe data available on their own maps, however I'm not aware of a source/api where you could download or use as a layer in QGIS. I covered off in a previous video about how to add custom X Y Z layers, however that's now obsolete, however you can sign up with maptiler.com with a free account and drop in XYZ OS map 1 inch, 6 inch etc... which is great. With Tithes, I tend to download the tithe map, or obtain from a library and manually rectify the image to overlay as a layer if that makes sense?

Having had a look, you have an excellent online resource for the Cheshire Tithe, but I don't beleive they provide any kind of API/streaming link or XYZ tiles facility.

@@unearthers Hey thanks 🙏 a lot for this. Yeah, I’ve successfully added some custom XYZ layers, (thanks again to you), but suspected there weren’t any available for UK Tithes... So I guess what you’re saying here, is ‘manually manipulate’ a Map photo image into place? Tbh I 1/2 expected this wud be the case, but thanks again for clearing it up... 🙏. (I’m pretty sure you have a tutorial for it too so, when I get around to it, I’ll try it by following your one). Many thanks again, Bobby 🙏🌺🎶

Great video! I have the latest version of Qgis installed on my PC (3.26) but don't have the same options on the top bar as you - "processing" is missing, as it "database", "web, "mesh" options etc. I can't work out how to access slope on mine, any thoughts?

Hi Sam, I'm so sorry, I missed this. Hopefully you've got it sorted, but if not: To enable it, go to Plugins -> Manage and Install Plugins... -> Installed and check the checkbox next to "Processing".
