@ I know it's sad, but the problems run very deep. Broken tiles with mold growing, windows that are falling out when we open them, plumbing that isn't at the right angle to allow a dishwaser, the list goes on and on. I guess things just don't last 70 years.
My word for this year is ‘kind’.

Simplify is a great word!
This the yr my husband and I begin our Swedish death cleaning of the entire house😊 I turn 60 next month and he is 63 and we both feel the need to purge and have a life that makes it easier to travel freely. We live in Paraguay , SA.
Tip: Turn the top sheet over and "sleep between the flowers" (or whatever pattern). So when you fold back the tops sheet, it is the pattern and not the back of the pattern. Guidance from my mom, when I was a girl. We reset every Sunday. Prepares everyone for the week ahead and sets the tone.
We do the same with the top sheet
My mom taught me that with the sheets too. And I am 75 years old. One of my friends was established at what I was doing. I think she still thinking about it!
I just suggested the same thing and started reading comments and found yours also.
This is actually how sheets are supposed to be done.
I do that on our bed
On the subject of time management and priorities ,my pastor has always told us that if you say “yes” to something, you’re saying “no” to something else. Balance is key.
My word of the year is “patience”.
My goals for the year are #1 -to maintain my health and stay out of the hospital and #2 - complete my once-a-year deep cleaning by March and #3 - finish paint touch-ups in my 2 bathrooms.

I love your house. I don't choose a word of the year but I've narrowed down my thoughts to just 6 priorities in my life & I've found this simple approach so peaceful. I've learned that the simpler I make my life, the closer I come to God. I'm currently refreshing my bedroom. New paint & a new comforter, shams, & area rug are on my to-do list :) 💙 ❤ 💗

We are about 30 min away. We were affected by the winds, but so lucky there wasn't a fire close to us.

I was so excited to see the kitchen renovation on the Wood Glueru this morning, couldn't click on it fast enough. I love a good renovation series. I know you've been wanting this for a while, so happy you're going to start it. The other channel is so much fun, love your husband's sense of humor and all the fun stuff he throws in. Hope you'll be doing a floor plan and sharing to give us a vision of what the space will become. Will you be able to reuse your kitchen cabinets in the garage for additional storage or plans to donate them?
I need to redo my bathroom, take out the tub and put in a walk in shower, hip & mobility issues. This year's major project.
Oh, and.....I still have a huge oak tree laying across my entire back yard from Hurricane Milton. Need to get that scheduled and removed. Was waiting till after the holidays and now have to get past our cold spell.
Noticed when you made your bed - the top sheet was put on upside down. If you put the top sheet, pattern down, when the covers are flipped back you can see the pretty pattern on the bottom and the top sheets.

BALANCE is always my word of the year because it's not really something you achieve and then you're done; you have to work at it constantly, much like decluttering. My partner and I decided that we want to deep clean every room in our home to basically reset it for the new year.
I wonder if you could possibly declutter your dresser as I did when pursuing minimalism. GRANTed, I don't have to share the bedroom closet with my partner, as he keeps all his clothing on a different level of the home where he showers and gets ready. I have some bins for the underthings on the top shelf of my closet and hang everything else. You also have a big cupboard in the hallway that you could use... just some food for thought if you want the curtains to easily open and close and have the extra floorspace.

My word is calm. I am looking at everything we own and everything we do and asking if it brings me and my family a calm feeling. If not, we are letting those things, actions & attitudes go.
A roll shade works great! We have those in all of our windows.
Have you thought about an exterior blind with remote so that you cannclose at nite to prevent the street light coming into bedroom.
Hi. Love your realistic videos. A solution for the light shining in to the bedroom can be room darkening shades or blackout shades like cellular shades. It blocks out the light and keeps the cold and heat out.

I don't usually choose a word for the year, but my planner this year had several pages devoted to goal setting and it had a spot for word of the year, so I chose simplify. I am doing a no/low buy year, so that is the first way I am simplifying! I'm also continuing to declutter my home to simplify. Thanks for sharing! I'm always inspired by your videos!💖

My reset is more like following doctor orders, it's nice to get a protocol beyond "take a pill," but wow. Five pages. It's a lot to incorporate new routines in order to give it a fair shot prior to next appointment. So, getting my space organized and routine in place has been vital. Giving self two weeks so i have four weeks of protocol before appt

My 2025 projects include flooring (contractor) & me resuming the painting of the interior of my home (ceilings, walls & baseboards). I work full time along with “life” so it doesn’t go as fast as I sometimes wish. Have 2 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms to finish before I getting the floors done.

Great word! It's so exciting to start using the fruit from our trees. We planted a lime tree in the front yard about 2 years ago and it's also fruiting and we have used so many limes.

Love your channel and all the tips you share with us. In your bedroom you could do away with curtains all together and eventually buy windows with darkening blinds inside the window panes. Or have darkening honeycomb shades that pull up and down. We have the honeycomb shades in our bedrooms and I can tell you they really make the room dark even during a sunny day.

We have this coming week with some more winds, so we aren’t in the clear yet. We live in Laguna Hills where the 405 and 5 meet so we aren’t pretty far south. Not that it helps as we have had or share of fires over the years but nothing like this past week.

Glad you are safe from the fires. Loved the video! I’m kind of using the same words as last year, which is SELF CARE. I want to continue on with that even more. I’m also going to “borrow” a couple words I saw here in the comments which are SIMPLIFY and FREEDOM. Ive decluttered and downsized a lot but now I’m helping my mom. Her house is pretty good but now I’m moving on to my dads two shops.
Hi. You could close that window up, keep the window, just add a prefab board and paint the same colour as the walls. Then use the wall for extra storage installations or place your bed there, and move the dresser under the higher window. Depends on the size of the room. Thanks for great video.

Yes I can. That was 3 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar, 2 tablespoons of mustard, and 1 tablespoon of maple syrup. It's really good!

Could you flip the bedroom blinds around, that way less light should come in? This \ way instead of / this.
I wish I could but that is how they are broken, the lever that moves them no longer moves LOL. I would replace them, but since we need new windows I don't want to waste money.

For me 2025 is "reduce and reuse."
I am going to cut way down on using plastic and parchment paper and paper towels this year. “Forever chemicals” are out of control.
Tip: Store paper towels under the sink. No holder. Just stand on end. When they are not always visible you msy use fewer.

That’s what I do. It makes the room much darker.
Keeps the slats cleaner as well.
I believe that the blinds are broken, the strings don't work.
That is how they are broken they won't move up or down LOL. But if I take them down it's really bad, way too much light even during the day.
My 2025 word is CHANGE. Change can be good, sad, bad, life altering, exciting,etc., but if we trust God with everything He works all things together for our good! Be open to change! Change will happen. What matters is how you receive change.
