@@TheModelShed hello again mr mr.shed!of course i am.and of course i do.with sticky greetings from brandenburg/Germany. Your fellow modellmate.christian
Nice review, and showcase of the AM parts you will use!! WOW!! That thing has TRENCHES for panel lines!!! Looking forward to your build Steve!! Eagerly awaiting the next update!! Happy Easter!!
Looking forward to this, much as I absolutely love the WW2 stuff it’s nice to see a modern jet in this scale! I might well build along as I have this kit somewhere in the stash and I managed to source the underwing resin extras
Hi Steve,I'm excited about this build.I just finished Italeri 1/72 AC-130 Spectre gunship.Unfortunately had a lot of problems with the fit of fuselage and clear parts. Some of it might be on me,seeing that I'm still new to the hobby.Looking forward to the build.
Looks like another good build series Steve, I'll be following this as I do with all your builds, the aftermarket should make a big difference to the kit.
Are you spying on me lol, I was just looking at this kit last night. I'll be spying on this build for sure. Jag and Tornado are my favorite cold warriors
I've got the GR4 and ECR versions in my stash and will be interested to see how you deal with those panel lines. Really looking forward to this build series!
@TheModelShed brilliant can't wait to see this build going to get mine out as your doing this I've also got the 3d chutes undercarriage but going to back date it to a gr1 and shoehorn the aires gr1 cockpit for revell into it
Yeah, good aftermarket haul. I'm interested in the pods, tanks and pylons. I got those same exhaust nozzles you did for my kit. One thing I decided to try was the Eduard LooK cockpit panel set. I got it for a really good price so, I figured why not. My aftermarket decal set is a different company, cannot recall which maker at the moment. I find the kit supplied drop tanks are more appropriate for the the Tornado F.3. Makes me wonder....
A lot I guess but I’m probably only going to build one of these and people can make up their minds about what they’d use on their builds if they can see what difference - or not - they make.
Excellent Steve, thanks for the mentions. If anyone reads this then the Italeri navs console is very wrong for a RAF machine, you'll want the Navs tardis piece Steve mentions to get the correct digital side boxes and rear deflector plate
Thank you Nigel. I’m glad you confirm about the nav console: I hacked the instrument panel quite a bit yesterday to get it to match my GR4 references. Maybe a candidate for a replacement part?
Great review. I really think that this kit is poor value at £115 given all the faults and inaccuracies. I’ll stick to my Revels that I’ve been able to purchase for £30 ish recently.

Hello Christian - you started young like me - I hope you're still in the hobby and enjoying it.

Looking forward to the Tornado build and your choice and reasoning for the selection of AM make perfect sense.
Thnks Peter 👍
Great to see you back Steve! Looking forward to any model you end up doing!cheers👍🏾
Thank you that's kind
Welcome back you’ve been missed! The new project looks amazing so I’m really looking forward to seeing it developing in your very skilled hands!
Thanks David 👍
Really looking forward to this one Steve. Something I'd like to tackle when I've got more kits under my belts.
Thanks Phil it’s a biggie but it should be fairly straightforward from what I’ve seen
Outstanding choice
👍
Wow! Those panel lines are the size of the Gand Canyon!
Yes they are Ive got a fix for them though

Thank you I’ve got a plan for the panel lines 🤔
Looking forward to this build! Yes, those panel lines!
I’ve been working on fixing those Paul. I’ll show how in the second episode.
Hi Steve, great subject which i think will create a lot of interest, really looking forward to this build series myself....👌
Thanks Alan 👍
Good to have you back, Steve. I am looking forward to watching this build.
Thank you 👍
Excited for this. I live just a few miles from what was the TTTE station. I do miss the Tonka's.
Thanks they were great aircraft weren't they

Get it out of the stash Steve it would be good to have a building buddy 😁

Don't worry Joseph its all part of the learning curve. Stick at it and enjoy the hobby that's the main thing.

Should be a nice build stay tuned
Can't wait to see you build this kit
Me too looking forward to it.
Nice kit! look forward to the build. Cheers!
Thanks Jeff

The panel lines are under control - I'll cover them in part 1 of the build.
What a big kit!!!
it is Michal should make a nice looking model
Looking forward to this as you are doing ZA412 you realise it has the early type undercarriage ie twin oleos on frt main leg
Yes got that - 3d chute expert do both so I’ve the early one on order

There are a few non GR4 - or even non RAF - bits in the Italeri kit which I’ll be trying to fix in the build Mike
One of these is on my to do list at some point so following along :)
Hope it helps thanks
Looks like the Matchbox trench digger has come out of retirement..Shame looks like a great kit
😂 it has but I have a plan for those
@@TheModelShed Always good to have a plan..lol
Hi Steve, look forward to you building this, looks a beast when built.
Just curious, have you’ve shelved the Lanc
Thanks
Jason
No I never shelve anything Jason. It will just be an occasional update maybe once a month.
Christ! How much does all this cost! Plus the kit of course!
My thoughts, exactly.
A lot I guess but I’m probably only going to build one of these and people can make up their minds about what they’d use on their builds if they can see what difference - or not - they make.
That’s a great kit.. but the panel lines are so chunky
They are but I have a plan for them which reduces the effect quite a bit

What happened to tornado build
I’m on with the cockpit now. You can’t build a GR4 out of the box so it takes time.
Great review. I really think that this kit is poor value at £115 given all the faults and inaccuracies. I’ll stick to my Revels that I’ve been able to purchase for £30 ish recently.
The Revell is still a nice kit and as you say good value these days. Id one interested in building one to compare to this.
