I know Lukas is more of a "Side Character" for the channel, but he's an absolute beast, I always love his paint schemes - those wings looked great!

Hi Squidmar. Just wanted to say thank you. I started mini painting a year ago but had lost motivation and given up. Since stumbling across your channel I have found myself being braver with colours and trying new techniques. I can see improvements every mini i do and never imagined it could be this fun. Thank you.
The craftsmanship on display here is staggering; especially at 2am. Having worked nights, I know how crushing it can be to work at that time of day. The minis look fabulous! 😍😍😍
24 hour painting challenges are always so much fun to see! I still remember the first one I saw at GW Sydney in the 90's, we went late at night to the store and they were in there painting, the floor strewn with discarded energy drink cans lol! It ended up in one of the Aussie White Dwarf's, everyone wanted to try it and pump out and amazing army. It's truly a feat of endurance, the things you can do in 24 hours are quite amazing. Great job on the video :)

I'm super intrigued on how you paint those hard color changes on the wings of the big birds with an airbrush without messing the previous color.
That part where Viktor takes the box and BOOM Archaeon was so great!
Would love love love a video that goes throug some of the short cuts (on highlighting,basin materials, pre shading etc) as well a wich brushes you guys use for long sessions or army painting in general. These deamons look fab for the amount of time spent great work and entertaining as always. Now be sure to rest!
Hey man, we use the squidmar brushes. Mostly medium or Large. We got plenty basing videos on the channel, feel free to dig around a bit 😊
I'm in my 40s and my eyes won't focus on painting for more than about an hour at a time, this is mind-blowing. Painted more models, and to a higher standard, in one night than I've managed in the last 5+ years... 😬
I re-started painting after over 30 years away (I'm 51). Sadly only possible with reading glasses, but with a mid-strength pair from a dollar store I can go for 3-4 hours without eye strain. Good luck!

How did you do the bases for Kairos? Been painting him for a while now (lots of gold, you know) and my initial plan was to make him stand on a fallen tree laying on a cliff. Your version is much more like it than anything I tried so far. Would love to know how you've done it. Much love from Germany

Hey mate, huge fan of your videos. Love the competition videos. I had an idea for you. You should make a colour wheel that you can spin & use to to decide what colours you can use in a competition. I think that would be fun!
You could also use spinning wheels to decide base types & time limits etc, would be super cool!
This inspired me to start my first AoS army! Been eyeing at an unpainted Tzeentch army for a while so now I pulled the trigger and bought it.

I feel your pain guys...I painted a whole Deathguard army in 48hrs for a video and it took me 12 hours just to do the gold armour trim! I almost gave up ha! Loved the video. Also love Lukas' grayling tattoo!
Do you have a list of paints anywhere that you used? I really love the blues used on Lukas' LoC, the greens you used for the LoC and the pinks on the pink horrors

Can I get the colors you used on the Green/orange keeper? I really like it and it’s not just. Low/mid/highlight. There’s some cool saturation stuff going on in the greens and orange. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I dont know how you do this mate. It legit took me a whole year to paint 2000 points worth sisters of battles + a few randoms ''just for fun'' . You guys are both machines and a tad bit insane.
I really LOVE this format! It's great to see that you can achieve a great result in 5 hours whereas others (myself included) need at least 50 hours for something similar.
That was a seriously smooth add transition. Bravo!
EDIT: Yeah, once I was 25, I noticed a serious difference in my ability to stay up late, too.... Just cannot do it anymore. LOL.

Do you guys thin the contrast paints to airbrush them or right away from the pot?

Contrast paint are thin enough to be airbrushed from the pot. However, transparency varies a lot from paint to paint and you may need to thin them more with airbrush thinner (not contrast medium).

@@Khetaz so the point is still mantain the light values you make with the cenital priming, right?
@@christiansebine7316 yes, however some contrast paints are more opaque than others hence why you may need to thin them more (blood angel red and shyish purple come to mind)
Tbh for airbrushing purpose, inks are better than contrast paints. They work the same, are way cheaper and actually tell you what to expect transparancy-wise.
I really like these speed painting videos you guys are doing, but at this point I would love to see a "masterclass" about speed painting one of these big birbs :D. To see how do you guys finish them in 2-5 hours and still have great details.

Wow, the result looks really incredible and not like speed painting.
OK, the airbrush helps with speed, but it's just the basis, the rest is normal painting and yes, it takes an enormous amount of time.
I hope we would see the 2 armies completely finished at some point ^^

This is indeed a massive undertaking..... and beautifully painted.
However, lol....... (devious chuckle), if you want to really impress us, do all that again and do it how us painters that can't afford the spray equipment.... all painted, undercoated, blended, highlighted using only a brush!!
But seriously, top notch work.
If you can buy an army you can buy a cheap airbrush ;)

It took me a week to paint up 10 pink horrors, 10 blue horrors, and 10 brimstones, and I didn't even finishes the bases of the pink horrors! You are a machine Squidmar!
