- It's time for another LIVE LESSON on facebook and youtube.
This lesson is aimed toward the intermediate and advanced player but I will put in content for less experienced.
Stick and pad or if possible get sat at your drum kit
We are going to learn some cool mozambique rhythm ideas.
Lesson notes will be put up on www.freestylerudiments.com after the lesson.
Enjoy and tell a friend

This is an absolutely fantastic lesson. Focusing on the sticking rather than the pattern made this really stick with me.
Glad you enjoyed. Thanks for watching
Fantastic lesson. I go to a Jazz Jam group and they always want to play Caravan. Didn't really know where to start but tis is great. I'll hopefully be able to play this on the next Jam night.
Amazing lesson! I've been struggling with Latin for a long time now and this lesson has really helped. As someone who started out for years as a rock drummer its been hard to break through to other genres, so lessons like this make my day. You've got yourself a sub!
I need to give you my respect. So happy I found your channel ☺️. Great lesson, without those talking stuff, only useful things. I subscribed.
Amazing lesson, thanks for sharing!
great lesson thank you, helped me a lot actually. I've been wanting to learn this ever since I watched whiplash (i know, cheesy, but true)
Thanks, I've actually still not watched the movie... is it worth the watch?
@@GeoffFryDrummer kinda yes. not the best movie I've ever seen but it's very unique
Thanks to you I learned this fabulous song, great teaching followed until the end and learned congratulations for the class!!!
This is so good, thanks very much Geoff! 🙏
I have been drumming since i was almost 7. Great video, first time i saw this channel definitely subscribed now, its been hard for me to find some challenging stuff and this was fun.
Hi Geoffry, this video is incredibly helpful for me. I am playing drums for two weeks now and I am not a fan of transcribed sheets. So it's nice that you explain the rhythmn/flavor (I don't know how to call it) so that people who learn "by ear" can really understand what's going on (e.g., at 27:30 )
Glad it was helpful! thanks
incredibly helpful! I amazed myself doing this.
Fantastic lesson-tbh I usually can’t bare these videos but I found this brilliant tysm.really helpful and inventive.
Brilliant lesson, thank you!!!
This is amazing man!😊
Great vid! Impressed how cohesive a lesson you did live too.
Such a great lesson than you ! I'm a pianist, starting drums, and this was super helpful.
Kia ora, thanks for the lesson. Greetings from New Zealand.
really dope lesson
Man I like the fact that you don't keep anything to yourself even small things like, "hey, i do this... dude slows down videos" that's the attitude! Thanks for tearing it up... the cascara ostinato mindfucks my other body members
Great lesson! However, your choice of metronome sound is enough to drive one insane! Thank you for the excellent breakdown of this pattern. With enough effort even an intermediate player such as myself will eventually learn it.
I was actually able to learn the groove off this video! having the sticking marked instead of trying to learn the “notes” made it so much easier
glad to help
Great lesson thanks
24:42 - to jump into playing along with the pattern.
One of the best lesson I’ve seen!
thanks
Good video, greetings from Brazil
Greetings from Brazil! Thank you for this amazing lesson!
Glad you liked it!
Great job
Good tutorial!
Hey, great lesson
can you please post a link to the sheet music?
thanks
Instablaster.
Thankyou
I used to use a cowbell but it was really old. Got rid of it. It was louder than it should have been as well.
👏👏👏👏👏

starting any moment.. let us know where your from!
I don’t think he was thinking baião when we was playing the hands - after all the Baião is Brazilian and not Afro - Cuban and the rhythm is played traditionally with the feet .
You are also missing a note on the a of 4 ( which would make it a variation of a baião if you want to look at it that way )
Exactly! That's more like a songo groove, baião its a different thing.
Lol I always wanted to play that beat
turns out I already learned it from my teacher a year ago but he never told me that this is the caravan beat hahaha
My name’s Jeff 🤣
👍👍👍Отличный видео урок, всё ясно, чётко и понятно обьясняете. К вам просьба, выставите для скачивания ноты в PDF или пришлите на почту
