Eichel hasn't "bloomed" in Vegas. He actually scored more goals and points in Buffalo. But most importantly - he's got better players around him in Vegas and he's not expected to be a leader.
Jack Eichel definitely bloomed in Vegas. He became a more complete player. He now plays a full 200 ft game and is more defensively responsible than he ever was in Buffalo.

Pegula's total focus right now is the high-flying Bills. He only stopped by the Sabre's to wish them Happy Holidays. Nothing will happen for the Sabres until the Bills are done.
Terry Pegula has meddled with the Sabres since day 1. He's the gorilla in the room and no one dares speak up against him unless they want to end up like Pat LaFontaine. Buffalo has suffered because of Pegula, who treats the franchise like a loss leader of the Bills. After being a HC for 25 years, Ruff wasn't allowed to choose his own assistants.
The Sabres never drafted or traded for players who have Grit, Spunk, or known for being aggressive since Darcy Regier. Adams paid out too much money too soon and has too much trust in them. Pegula has too much trust in Adams. Pegula should pay out and get maybe Ken Holland and let HIM run everything. (wishful thinking) All the opponent has to do is play physical against the Sabres. Its like kryptonite to them

It was like watching all other teams finally reading the newly added rules like the Sabres had done from the get go. -- 2) the talent of the original black and red era. I'd seen a few times where the Sabres movements actually faked out the cameraman!!! The boys were flowing naturally and having fun! It was evident when one could see players smiling during gameplay. *My favorite was Brian Campbell skating in BACKWARDS during several games!
Seems like pegula doesn’t give a damn about the Sabres, because his football team makes a lot more money. This is just an observation from a Panthers fan. I want the Sabres to succeed, because their fans deserve it. I’m really happy to have Reinhart, wouldn’t have a cup without him.

He already wanted out and people conveniently forget that when they wanna talk about Buffalo getting rid of him, he already asked for a trade the year before he already wanted to be out before he was injured so he was leaving one way or the other.

At that point eichel was gone and then on top of it he injured his neck. The neck injury just held up the inevitable trade.

Adams committed big money, long-term to several players, most of whom have been a total bust. Tage Thompson is a success, Owen Power is still a question mark, and Dylan Cozens and Mattias Samuelsson are awful.
Its the Granato ICE DANCER effect. He wanted a non physical, high skill team and sadly, we have a mediocre skilled team of non physical players with minimal heart and perseverance. This team will only OPEN UP when you have a physical threat out there to keep other teams honest imo. Consider bringing in Mathieu Olivier, Kastelic, Duhaime, Jeannot or even Foligno. Somebody of that magnitude would go a long way imo. Just thinking out loud here. Our biggest net front presence in the smallest player on the team (Benson) because he is FEARLESS. The others just want to dance and look for that pretty play it seems. Pucks to the net, physical play, and team defense can turn this shit show around.
