    I prefer these over the Fat 50s that everyone seem to love. Perfect demo.

    Really appreciate the demo. When trying to upgrade gear like the pu you really can't find clean and usefull vids. Many use highly distrotioned and overmodulated sounds. Very clear and well recorded sound. Thanks!

    So this is how a good demo is made. No more stupid and non sense endless solos. Perfect balance between chords (strumming) and leads. Congrats!

    The Neck + Middle combo in clean was simply beautiful, while the Bridge alone had an almost AM Radio vibe. Thanks for sharing all this effort.

    Meaty, bouncy and full-bodied. I have a 65 Strat which sounds close to this but I prefer the clarity of these new ones.

    Joey this is such a great channel man. Your growth is much faster than mine hahah. I need to review more and expand. People will tire of my mediocre explorative guitar tones and songs. I thoroughly enjoy the journey my friend. Meeting great friends along the way too like you. Extremely talented. Love your video editing. I use my phone and power director yet. Hahaha. Anyway. Just stopping back by to say hi.

    Thanks Joey. A very beautiful sounding set. I was especially surprised by the middle pickup by itsalf, which I can say I have never used, as I find it often shrill and sterile. Not here.

    This is the best pickups demo video I’ve ever seen, you tested each positive in every way you can think. I appreciate the video a lot man however I have question, do the pickups have a lot of hum?

    • @joeytheguitarplayer
      @joeytheguitarplayer  3 года назад +1

      Thanks! They are not noiseless pickups but they don't seem to hum any more than other standard single coils.

    Great demo! I've been very happy with the 57/62s for almost 10 years, but I've been somewhat underwhelmed with the bridge pickup in the set, mostly because I think that the AlNiCo 5 slugs are too bright in the Bridge position. I have wired the lower tone control also to the Bridge Pup, but I loose some character with the Middle pup ...I think I might give the Fat 60s a try. Thanks again for the Demo Joey!

    Fantastic! Nothing like listening to how a Fender CS offering sounds and getting a free guitar lesson in the process👍 I was learning towards getting the CS 69’s loaded set. Now I’m not so sure?

    Your playing makes the Alnico 2 sound great with this S-style pickup guitar combo. Still Straty but something else too. With rosewood neck it's a nice warm overall tone I wouldn't mind for myself. Not sure what "The Mrs" is though, unless it's a 'partscaster'.

      @joeytheguitarplayer  3 года назад

      Hey thanks man. It is a Helix preset, but not one from the factory. My personal one.
      But if you're looking for a similar tone go with: Tweed/Fender amp; Clean Boost; Harmonic Tremolo; Nice Tape Delay

    • @RJ_HTx
      @RJ_HTx 3 года назад +1

      Fat 50s have more high end than Fat 60’s cuz of the Alnico 2 used on the 60’s. In my case I’m gonna buy Fat 60s because I like the sound of Humbuckers with Alnico 2 so I’d like to have a similar sound but with single coils.

    In terms of delivering warmer, rounder, creamier and glassy tones, which set of Fender pickups would you use between these two: Fender Pure Vintage '59 or these Fender Custom Shop Fat 60's?

    • @joeytheguitarplayer
      @joeytheguitarplayer  6 месяцев назад +1

      for me personally the Fat 60s felt warmer.. i actually swapped to PV59s that i happened to come across by accident.. they have a little more snap on the top end that i needed in my rig..

    • @joeytheguitarplayer
      @joeytheguitarplayer  3 года назад +1

      Thanks Jason. Sadly, no GR video planned just yet but:
      1) I like the Tweed sim, set fairly clean; my dirt comes from pedals
      2) Make generous use of clean boosts; pedalboard (it just adds that extra "something" the sim needs)
      3) Plenty of spring reverb haha sometimes too much
      4) Work the "air" control on the GR cab sim till it sounds as close to "in the room" as you can get
      Hope this helps a little bit Jason :)
