I saw a video of some pro composer , don't remind the name . He said this classic masterpiece was based on rock basics . That's why it fit so much with guitars . Can't put on the name of this guy and his analysis , take this as a personal opinion lol .
@@alang6157 my favorite comment about this song was one I saw years ago. Someone said Nobuo making a masterpiece like this on the SNES was as if someone painted the Sistine Chapel with crayons. He had such limited tools and made something unreal.
When I first heard Dancing Mad in FF6, I thought it was the perfect song and it could not be surpassed. When I heard Dancing Mad in the Distant Worlds Album, I thought it was perfectly modernized and it could not be surpassed. When I heard Dancing Mad (Symphonic Arrange) made by a fan, I thought someone finally found the perfect way to use the choir and it could not be surpassed. When I heard Dancing Mad made by Nobuo's Black Mages, I thought the guitar solo added something perfectly beautiful that I did not even realize the song needed and it could not be surpassed. Now I've heard Dancing Mad made by Earthbound Papas, and I think to myself how can a song be so perfect and yet somehow, someway people find a way to make it even better. I wonder what will surpass even this version.
Everything from the 8:20 to 11:30 mark was absolute gold. Everything from Kefka's insanity from most of the Dancing Mad theme ends off perfectly in those moments and how he sees the world as a Tragic Comedy that is no longer worth saving. At least in my view that is what I get from those moments when the church organ is playing.
Yeah dude. The forth movement of the piece is why i faved the video just now. The way they blended everything together, the way the vocals hit. MMMM chefs kiss!
@@santabakure6264 earthbound papas is the second prog rock band that Uematsu made, he just uploaded the song and commented on the video, there's no self-ball licking here.
Like the sound of this version it's really gorgeous, specifically the bass and drums that are sounding so pleasant, those guys know their tuning. But I prefer The Black Mages solo, that thing will be difficult to surpass, it's one of the most amazing solos I've ever heard.
@@1222zac Nobuo wasn't actually involved with the very first Black Mages album, which is where their version of Dancing Mad comes from. From the second album onward though, he was on board.
I don´t know why I can't watch this video in Chrome or Opera, this means that when I want to hear this masterpiece I open Internet Explorer. You guys know what that means, I mean, my PC could explode just for opening that program of the devil. Anything for hear this awesome song !
Anthony Charles Dickinson (Tony Dickinson) won the Metal Hypnotized Remix Contest with his remix song "Metal Symphonized." For winning, he got to meet up with Nobuo Uematsu and the rest of the Earthbound Papas where he got to co-create a song on the Dancing Dad album. I believe he's attributed to working on the songs "Doppelganger," "La petite malice du Kijimunaa," and "Anthony's Dream.""Was welcomed as a guest Anthony Charles Dickinson , who won the original music this work is the first open to other " Doppelganger " and " La petite malice du Kijimunaa " was done last year in the "Metal Hypnotized remix contest " " Interlude ~ Anthony's EBP2nd long-awaited album , which was recorded Dream " !" -source Google Translate translation of the Japanese DogEarRecords homepage that talks about the Dancing Dad album.
N0Lif3 Interesting! He only mentions 'Anthony's Dream' on his Facebook page. Either way, no mention of him working on this track... who knows if 'Prancing Dad' was influential.
oh man, i like this version a lot more than the black mages one, seems like uematsu understood what didn't work in that one. ...except for the chorus around the end, that's the only thing i don't like.
My nerdgasm came to a grinding halt at the end of the 2nd movement. I would have been fine with them changing the 3rd movement from a light sounding fugue into a metal song if the 4th movement (Finale) was more energetic. The way they mellowed out the finale made it sound WAY out of place! (Also, it lost it's epic symbolism by doing this) I will say this, the vocalists were amazing!
After hearing this I can now certify that the BASS player is the true mastermind behind this rendition
I love that Uematsu, years later, formed his own prog rock band and came back to these songs to cover them in the best way possible.

@@alang6157 it's a lot in conversation with emerson lake and palmer's tarkus-- worth a listen if you haven't
This is actually his 2nd prog/hard rock and metal band, the first one being The Black Mages from 2003 - 2010, making 3 albums.
This is my new favorite version of Dancing Mad, it's a crime it wasn't recommended to me sooner!

I really love how bluesy it gets from then on out. You can just feel the sorrow and despair behind it.

That bass work is NICE.
It really is. This is, by far, the best version of Dancing Mad out there, imo. It's so good.

love this version. Can't believe there aren't a hundred times more views!
i always like to play the solo of the third movement the guitar solo one
god damn, there needn't be any more covers of this song after this one. This is a masterpiece
Never have been blessed with such raw, undiluted based. We never earned the right to share the planet with master Uematsu.

I use Firefox and it plays just fine for me :)
Dancing mad- advent mix
I tried listening to it at 1.25 speed. Awesome either way. This is generally what I listen to when doing intense exercise.
I love this version, but I really do miss the pure organ middle section of other arrangements.
This is eeriely similar to the arrangement 'Prancing Dad' by Tony Dickinson... who also happens to be a featured musician on track 6 of this album!

The last verse makes an American feel terrible for some reason.
