Arguably better known these days for the WarioWare series, our anti-hero Wario started off as the villain in Super Mario Land 2 ( tasvideos.org/... ) before starring in his own series of platformers of which this is the fifth (everyone forgets Virtual Boy Wario Land ( tasvideos.org/... )).
Through strategic use of save-and-restore and a glitch allowing rapid diagonal movement and zipping, Wario gets away with all the loot in this normal mode run by Reseren ( tasvideos.org/... ), which features different routing compared to Hard mode.

I had read somewhere that Wario Land 4 saves progress the very frame that the objective is met (touching the exit, giving the last blow to a boss) and as expected it's used heavily in this TAS

Been playing, reading, and seeing a lot of Wario Land 4 the past couple months so very pleased to see a new publication!
Leave it to Wario to clean out an entire golden ruin of all it's treasure in just half an hour to eat at a $10 all you can eat steakhouse.
Never saw much gameplay of Wario Land 4, now I see how much Pizza Tower was inspired by it. It took several elements from a familiar game, and made something completely new out of it.
The only problem with Wario Land 4 TASes is that each level finishes before the HURRY UP theme has finished building up

Good news! There are TAS tools that work with Linux! I believe it is how the Hollow Knight community has been making all of their crazy TASes. So its very possible!

This is the first TAS I've seen of this game, and I am blown away by how much it just breaks the game in half. Scott needs to do a "totally legit speedrun" animation on this.
Never really seen wario in vibrant colors since I have an ags 001 model, so I kinda just saw the dulled out front lighted colors but its better than no light/needing the sun for help lol

Super Hard requires beating the game first, which usually isn't allowed.
@@AndrewBlechinger TASvideos has been accepting submissions with some sort of new game plus requirement for a long time, with the provision that you have a separate movie that beats the game beforehand (a verification movie). Also recently they have started to accept movies that just have an included save file.

Why so much jumping? During dash specifically
When you land after dashing, you can press A immediately when you hit the ground to start hopping at full speed. If you just release r and then press A, you will be slightly slower.
Walls are a suggestion.

@@davyjones3105 there's normal, and there's hard, and then there's super-hard, which is unlocked after beating the game.

Harder difficulties move items you need to progress into more awkward places
I can't find the original comment, but apparently TASvideos require NG+ runs (which Super Hard requires) to include a verification video of beating the game normally in order to unlock it. And I think either this one or the linked run would qualify for that. ruclips.net/video/cfas7XR_XG4/видео.html
It has to be the same saveram from the hard movie. I would just need to beat hard myself and record it to do an s hard tas.
