Excellent advice. I used to do desktop computer support for the company I worked for. At least 95% of the computer problems I "solved" was done by resetting the user's computer. As you said, most of the new HF radios are basically computers, so a complete reset should resolve most issues.

I had a problem with my Yeasu FT100D radio.
It was putting out a signal with screeching audio, full scale, even on SSB.
I did a factory reset, problem solved.
I couldn't save my memories, but it is an old radio.
I love old radios, even if I wanted a new all singing and all dancing radio, I couldn't afford it.

I wonder if the apparent high noise level in my radio is due to a problem in its non-parity-checked memory.
