She tried to separate wen and her son which caused her to rebel. Then she killed concubine qin unborn child because they did not want the main wife to be mad. I noticed they never checked her for that.
Unfortunately, this is a common practice in most respectable high-born families. The nobler the name the more it is required to keep the concubines childless until a main lady arrives as part of the propriety of noble bearing. It's a strange plot hole for the concubine to expect that she can keep the child. She may resent becoming barren as a side effect of the medication...but it is practiced in some families to go as far as making the concubines barren. It's part of the role and job description for marrying into high-born families just as foot binding later on. The grandmother is also acting as befitting of her time where matrons of large families create warfare in the household as a manipulation tactic... just like the emperor would pit concubines against each other through favoritism to reign them in under his power. The Wens aren't aristocrats but their wealth still makes them a powerful family, so Yu would have had significant backers from his mother's side of the family. The Great Madam often gave Shiyi a hard time for being an illegitimate daughter, it wouldn't be that surprising that she might have made such assumptions.

錦心似玉改到完全不符合當時的時代，當時的時代根本不會有姨娘主持中饋，否則就會被參一本寵妾滅妻。更不可能把妾室看得那麼重，秦姨娘是奴籍扶成妾室，就是賤妾而非良妾，做的事應該是直接拖下去亂棍打死。有興趣的可以看原著，會學到很多當時朝代的事情。

大家別用現代人眼光看古裝劇吧，就像樓下說的，害苦秦姨娘的是制度，不是太夫人。
石榴是被賣給徐家的丫鬟，和那種純粹靠幫佣領銀子的僕人不同，她的一生注定就是徐家的人，沒有自由、沒有追愛的權利。
太夫人說是為了不讓石榴被嫡妻為難，這沒有錯，看看紅樓夢的賈府，平兒是通房，但王熙鳳沒有兒子，她連生育的資格都沒有；再看看趙姨娘，她已經是在王夫人生了賈珠和賈寶玉兩個嫡公子後才生探春和賈環，照樣被刁難，甚至女兒一生下來就被王夫人抱走，和自己一點也不親。太夫人不過是希望石榴能夠低調平順地過日子而已，只是她運氣不好，為此傷了身難以再有孕(文姨娘也有喝，還是生了一個健康聰明的兒子)。
我覺得這電視劇很多地方跟紅樓夢挺像，在紅樓夢裡，丫鬟也是有分等級的，最高等級的是通房丫鬟，寶玉房裡就有四個，說白了是給第二性徵逐漸成熟的少年公子解決性需求的工具，但是吃穿用度都比其他丫鬟好，也不用做粗活，運氣好一點的日後能被提拔成姨娘晉升為主子，這在當時的世代其實是很多丫鬟的目標(譬如襲人，為此還暗算晴雯)，當然現代人覺得匪夷所思，可是當時她們的性命並非掌握在自己手中，即便伺候的對象不一定是自己心儀的主子，至少衣食無缺，離開府邸，好一點貧賤夫妻百事哀，差一點直接餓死、凍死在路旁。

原著小說寫的像紅樓夢幾個大家族至少有三房，人物眾多小說描寫了很多古代的生活如:婚禮、生辰、很多細節對衣著、服飾、身上的配件都描寫的很祥細，很可惜電視劇改編如願意多花點前按原著拍應該很精彩，女主角是穿越所以有現代人的思考
