I definitely still need to see Come and See and Tae Guk Gi. They Shall Not Grow Old was a great documentary and I hope others use the footage they restored for that film in other documentaries in coming years.
I keep having people tell me to check out 'come and see' and it was mentioned multiple times in the collab. I'll need to go ahead and finally get around to watching that haha
It’s really quite ghastly, the title is actually an apocalyptic reference from Revelations, reading: “And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and See. And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death.”
I agree with your thoughts on The Thin Red Line. I saw it in theaters when I was still in middle school and I did not appreciate it. I rewatched it last year and thought it was a very powerful and thoughtful movie.
The last two movies are extremely epic and rarely talked about. Was very surprised and impressed by your picks! I haven't even seen the Belarusian one, but I've heard about it and it's truly crazy. Also, these sure are some warm films xD
Thank you for putting this together

1917 ALMOST made my list. It's a great movie. I appreciated you picking some lesser known films.
