Suuure buddy, at least I dont torture people there with subpar sound quality from some shitty hipster device. Nah man. I think that Richard spent so much time mixing and mastering his tracks that it's offensive to listen them on shitty devices just for sake of being "hip".
I have this song on vinyl so I looked into finding a working wire recorder. None that I found even work. Looks like you have something rare on your hands. I'm so glad you have it and decided to record Iz Us with it.
There are enough skilled radio repairsmen out there. The electronics are easy to get working - all paper capacitors and electrolytics have to be swapped out one by one. The mechanics are a bit more specialized but often, you only need to clean and lubricate them.
That's so good, great choice of music track - those old wire recorders are really spooky machines - I have an old Agaphone wire recorder - I could do with getting some new wire reels because mine have been used and broken many times, and the wire tends to snag and break again and again when it gets to a previous repair.
Even if it isn't as explicitly high-quality as something else I love the sound to death. edit: realized this was supposed to be for recording voice messages and now I feel silly.
@kdhymes It seems like for some reason people hate wire recorders. But these are definitely beautiful machines. Weren't these in use since the 40s, though? I thought wire recorders were one of the first methods of magnetic audio storage.

no bass freq to shake our souls with the melancholy that the song normally has :0

Yes
terrible take
The pitch bend on some of those chords is glorious.
The wavering and feeble.
There’s something more soulful about old limited tech with a nostalgic filter over modern recordings that are crisp and clear
that’s why lo fi music exists (not just lo fi hip hop)

@@ramen6236 yes it was, on a promo 2 x LP. It was the final track of the second 12" in the set. It goes for about £200 🥲

Ask Techmoan if he knows where to find any. He's done videos on wire recorders before, he's bought quite a few of them.
I have one that works 😭
