Does anyone in these comments actually comment on the video or...lmao Anyway I think the understanding the lyrics of this song are pretty important and bring a lot of clarity to the videos and would explain the somber pieces Zack was feeling. Sometimes with kpop you don’t always need lyrics but sometimes you do. It’s really that extra piece. Tbh mamamoo is a group I’m really fond of and the thing I enjoy about kpop (more so then western artist in a way) is having a solo career does not mean you no longer have to be apart of the group. Often times when members of a western group go solo that’s almost like a guaranteed wrap on the group and in kpop not so much from what I’ve seen (ex. Jennie (BP), literally every member of Shinee, members of exo etc. The other members also have solo projects. Aside from Hwasa my bias is actually Wheein and her solo music is a big shining moment for her. It’s funny in mamamoo I feel the ones who get the most standout are Hwasa and Solar so it’s interesting you think Hwasa doesn’t shine as hard in mamamoo or I might have misunderstood that comment. You don’t need to react to it but I’d advise on your own to check out hwasas other solo song “Be Calm” it’s still my favorite. And if you’re curious at the groups solo dynamic I would advise trying each of the members solos but again that’s just a deep dive. Anyway great reaction. I think they meant that they prefer hwasa on her own rather than mamamoo as a whole because hwasa stands out that much. You ever have those moments when you’re watching a Kpop video and you’re waiting for your bias’s screen time? Well I think that’s what they meant. Instead of having to wait for hwasa to show up in mamamoo videos, why not just watch her solo stuff, right? :)
While Hwasa is Hwasa, but I have to say Hwasa in Mamamoo and solo is different, in Mamamoo she have to harmonize with the members and hold back (that is why I love OT4 so much), while solo she does everything her way and she gets to show her full self and potential without holding back (Hwasa have great stage presence her alone can fill a whole stage, so with solo you get to witness that, the full lion unleash) That is why I am huge OT4 and Hwasa fan from the beginning (because there is a difference, as I don't consider Hwasa a bias, I am OT4 when it comes to MMM but I stan Hwasa separately)
I understand the reluctance to say what you did about Hwasa shining better as a solo artist, but I honestly think that's so true about pretty much every member of Mamamoo. They're my favorite group and the group that actually dragged me into Kpop, and while the thought of them one day disbanding does really upset me, I know that their individual solo careers will serve me something I probably didn't even know I wanted or needed. They're all such talented individuals, it's really hard for any one member to shine above the rest, but they are just amazing on their own. They recently did a series of 4+ hour long concerts (for real, they kept "accidentally" going over 4 hours when apparently it was supposed to be like an hour and a half), where in addition to the group stuff, each member got a solo stage. I'd recommend checking those out if you have the time and interest (not requesting a reaction to it, to be clear), because it really showcased each member's individuality so well. With every additional stage I just kept getting blown away in new ways. Moonbyul showcased a lot of her vocal talent while also showcasing a lot of traditional Korean stuff, while also continuing to play around a bit with gender representation by not only wearing a suit, but also a traditionally male Korean hanbok. It was a great visual showcase on top of her vocal showcasing, because for someone who is known as a rapper, she is also a really great vocalist and just keeps getting better and better the more she regains her confidence in it (she was originally a vocalist before being told to learn to rap for Mamamoo). Wheein played the drums during her stage, something she had apparently only learned a few months prior, but she was so good. She also covered 7 rings and showcased her dancing skills. Hwasa literally had "the Hwasa show" which showcased more of her personality and worldview with a bit of singing in between, and then Solar started out dressed like a Disney princess singing Celine Dion and finished it with a cover of BTS' Fire and ripping off her shirt. I just... this was months ago and I'm still not over any of it. It motivated me to start a savings fund to one day go see them in Korea, because I know even if they do eventually do a world tour, there's no way we're getting anything like that. I'll be going to Kcon LA to see them but I know that's just gonna be a few songs at most, so trip to Korea has to happen before they do finally go their own solo ways.

Mamamoo is no doubt my most favorite current Kpop group, because not only they produced great songs, each member’s artistry and individuality really shine through, which clearly sets them apart from every other current group. The last time I saw a Kpop group in which every single member has enough skills and stage presence to go solo was Brown Eyed Girls, and ironically Mamamoo reminds me a whole lot of Brown Eyed Girls too. 3 powerhouse vocalists and one rapper can not only spits real fire but also can sing too. I just love how they are not afraid to be playful and showcase their true personalities through their works, yet at the same time they all blend in so perfectly as a group too. These are seriously the keys to a group’s longevity

She saying she is tired of him. some of the symbols like the plastic represents her saying she is suffocating in the relationship, and with the other Mamamoo member it represents her only confining to her female friend, and the end where she is in black and you see her bf feet it represents how he basically walks for her like he would rather carry her and use his legs and feet . All in all she is looked and treated like a queen but shes tired of it in the end he leaves and she is left alone regretting how she treated him taking him for granted

honestly if you see every mamamoo solo performing, you would really want them on their own. but the fact that they're in a group, with all their unique talents, vibe, and personalities, and still managed to be cohesive as a unit. it's truly amazing, mamamoo as a whole, and their individuality is totally out of this world and i don't see other groups doing it like them.
omg so i fucking love this song and the mv so much, glad y'all had a chance to react to it~!!! so to me, from the lyrics and the mv symbolism, what i think being described here is a toxic relationship that's a bit different than what we normally see. this man loves hwasa, wants to do everything for her, and she loves him too but realizes that their relationship, and possibly the man himself, is dying bc he is so devoted to her and doesn't look after himself (aka he's literally "under her skirt" and unmoving in that one scene, only looking at her and not any of the chaos around him). at first she loved the attention and bc of that she blames herself a bit for this state (at one point she calls herself a bitch who "made him sick") but now she lashes out at him, calling him names (like twit), ignoring him, being purposefully late for dates etc so he'll finally get angry and the relationship will be even and normal. eventually she succeeds and he gets mad but breaks up with her, which is obviously not what she wanted but was perhaps for the best given how they treated each other. it's really sad and given that the lyrics are co-written by her i wonder if she actually experienced this....

so to me, from the lyrics and the mv symbolism, what i think being described here is a toxic relationship that's a bit different than what we normally see. this man loves hwasa, wants to do everything for her, and she loves him too but realizes that their relationship, and possibly the man himself, is dying bc he is so devoted to her and doesn't look after himself (aka he's literally "under her skirt" and unmoving in that one scene, only looking at her and not any of the chaos around him).
at first she loved the attention and bc of that she blames herself a bit for this state (at one point she calls herself a bitch who "made him sick") but now she lashes out at him, calling him names (like twit), ignoring him, being purposefully late for dates etc so he'll finally get angry and the relationship will be even and normal.
eventually she succeeds and he gets mad but breaks up with her, which is obviously not what she wanted but was perhaps for the best given how they treated each other. it's really sad and given that the lyrics are co-written by her i wonder if she actually experienced this....
