from what i've gathered he's extremely devoted to her, to the point of only caring about her happiness instead of his. she loves him but is also annoyed with him bc he won't take care of himself, hang out with other people, and lets himself get walked on. she blames herself to some degree for his "sickness", perhaps enjoying his devotion before she realized how severe it is. so she starts acting out, trying to push him into being mad at her and/or standing up for himself by ignoring him, being late to dates, making fun of him, etc. he gets fed up with the treatment, finally, but he breaks up with her. this ofc wasn't what she wanted bc she loves him but bc of their toxic relationship it just doesn't work.
i think the dress scene with him under her dress especially shows this. being "under someone's skirt" like a kid who's too attached to his mom, killing himself and their relationship. as someone who's very independent in relationships i can relate to her annoyance....
have y'all seen hwasa's collab w/ loco?? it's called don't and it's amazing, esp. since he has a huge crush on her. watch that and the making of video if you can~

Hwasa just broke the 'Korean beauty standards' and fascinated everyone with her particular beauty. We love her for that, she ain't like the other and I'm glad there's a figure like her in the kpop industry.

The song swept charts in South Korea and got real time all kill (first place on EVERY SINGLE chart) , it has entered the Top 100 of U.S. iTunes Top Songs chart to currently become the top-selling Kpop song in America plus got amazing results WORLDWIDE too landing on 22nd place in iTunes chart...I'm not talking about the kpop chart but the overall chart!
This MV and lyrics are packed with a lot of interesting references and symbolisms.
In the lyrics she uses "delicate Shim Cheongie" ...referring to an old korean tale. Shim Cheong (a filial daughter) was sold as a virginal sacrificial offering to the sea, in this way her blind father could make the temple donation needed to miraculously restore his sight. With the help of the Dragon King of the sea, she returned to the land and eventually became a queen. So Shim Chung is sacrificing yourself for the benefits or happiness of others, it means a great love without boundary.
There are'nt that many songs with this concept, telling him/her you should live for yourself don't breath only for me...usually it's the other way round, "give me more attention, give me more love". Mamamoo are famous for writing songs with interesting concept, empowering, respect, love yourself and so on.
In the beginning of the mv she's reading 'Animal Farm' by George Orwell which is all about the constraints of society and following the rules…she tosses it aside. Her wrapped up in the plastic bag, coming out of a wardrobe crying, walking and dancing with confidence on a table and no one is paying attention to her while when she has a lighter skin tone and cuter hairstyle boys are at her feet...all is a clear reference to how women are treated in korean society.
The girl embracing Hwasa is Wheein, another Mamamoo member and her best friend since middle school. Her cameo is interesting too...if you consider the lyrics of this song and Wheein solo 'Easy' it's like watching the opposite sides of the same coin. Plus Wheein is Hwasa source of strenght and comfort, you can see her leaning on Wheein and Wheein embracing Hwasa. Their makeup is natural and they're almost nacked because they can be themselves with each other.
In the all black scene where you can see her and the legs of a man; it's like she abused of his love so much that in the end killed that feeling and when she understood what she did to him she tried to take the boy back but in the end he leaves her. Many people pointed out those blatantly fake birds...I mean, they could use CG like the leopard in Egotistic MV but I think they did it on purpose. A bare tree with fake/dead birds. Everything is white, birds, dress and background, so lonely. In Korea and the Middle East it is the norm that white symbolizes time of mourning and funerals. It is an interesting predicament that theorists find white relays the message of clarity. It could be thought that once someone has passed away there may be clarity in the peoples’ lives, or lack there of. And right after compare the black scene...so going back to the theory of the mourning and understanding (clarity) what she lost.
the scene where she's dancing and partying with so many people while he's there, he stays still on that bed. They look at each other so she nows he's lonely and sad there but she's smiling at him while dancing, like a spite to hurt him once again.
In the end the flower on the ground represents the beautiful relationship she had, the beautiful love he gave to her. When he decides to leave her, the guy tosses that flower on the ground and she tramples on it like she did with his feelings.

THis powerfull lady is a member of the talented group MAMAMOO (WHO WILL HAVE A COMEBACK THIS MARCH!!!). You already reacted to one of their songs ''egotistic''. This group are full off charisma and power vocals. I really hope you will check out more of their songs, but also their immortal songs or live stages. bc like i said their vocals are top notch.!!!

Hey guys! To help y'all out its pronounced Huh-Wah-Sah. This is her Solo Debut, and She is from the girl group Mamamoo. ❤❤❤
Btw I think her being in the bag signifies that the guy is suffocating her in the relationship.
Her collab with Loco from last year ("Don't") was easily one of the top tracks of 2018 (and watching them put it together on the show Hyena On The Keyboard was one of the cutest stories you'll ever watch unfold - Loco is absolutely besotted with her).
Being in the bag to me meant she feels smothered. He lives for only her and she can't return the devotion. However, by the end of the video, she realizes she does want him but he has had enough and leaves her.
Hwasa is totally my bias in Mamamoo. She has also been featured in duets and in other artists songs. My current favorite is Loco and Hwasa Don't. I think you would enjoy some more of Mamamoo's songs too like Ahh Opp! (featuring Esna), Piano Man, You're the Best, Starry Nights, Windflower. Also some other members of Mamamoo have some wonderful solos as well such as Wheein's Easy (which also has a guest appearance of Hwasa), Moonbyul Selfish, Solar It's been a long time. I would also recommend the mv/song Honeybee which features Solar from Mamamoo, Luna from Fx and Hani from EXID.

The way I took it is that if you're only living for your partner then you're not actually bringing anything to the relationship; you have nothing of your own to offer your lover - like a dog. Who wouldn't get tired of that? Pretty cool song, I think. Nice reaction.

They are one of if not only the most respected group because of their vocal abilities and the way they are able to versatile there singing g e n r e. They are able to do different styles. So when you mentioned her vocals is not a surprise because she along with her members in the group are hugely known for their vocals. She's done a couple of solos. Her stage performances have been controversial because she's sexier than what some people want. The vid--there are some English explanations. You got the meaning. She's annoyed with him cuz he is obsessed with her and she wants someone who is more self-aware and not into her more than understanding what he is doing. But the video shows that the consequences of being honest is that he leaves her or at least is pissed at her for awhile.

So in my opinion this music video represents that this boy isn’t treating her right so when she’s alone she’s sad or upset and she feels safer when she’s with her friends who in courage her to stand higher that that guy but when she sees him she becomes vulnerable and can’t help but love him even if he causes her pain

I highly recommend checking out her live performances. Either her Solo or MAMAMOO's live because they are vocal queens. I promise you won't be disappointed.
Basically the song is about how the boy in the video is a twit because his purpose of living is for Hwasa and not for himself. he makes stupid sacrifices for her just for her happiness and not his own. Because of this Hwasa calls him a twit and doesn’t pay attention him. Later on it’s kinda a plot twist because she realises that she’s the twit for not giving back the same attention and for not taking advantage of the love that she was given. The scene of her in the plastic bag shows how she feels suffocated.

So with the Twit mv visuals, you’ve got Hwasa ambivalent with a guy, Hwasa embracing a girl (Mamamoo’s Wheein - BFF w Hwasa since middle school), and Hwasa literally coming out of a closet. I just realized idk if you guys have reacted to Agust D yet, he has a mixtape called "Agust D" with a mv called "agust d" and another called "give it to me", personally i like the former the most. Agust D is Min Yoongi from BTS it's his other stage name and this is from his first mix tape after BTS Rm's "RM" and before BTS Jhope's "Hope World" All three from the rap line have released solo albums and RM released a second, "Mono" but I know you guys already heard it. Jhope released 2 music videos too I think.

everyone seems to have a bit of different interpretation, i personally think she disregards his love because his devotion to her is to idealize her and not see her as an equal human, so to him she's various things a queen, a saint, a product, a bird out of reach, anything but a person because from far away anybody can seem perfect, she wants to keep it real, just be a human who is fallible, and she knows seeing her for real with all her flaws might mean he won't love her anymore but it's either that or an insincere relationship where he loves who he likes to imagine she is
T w i t means fool. The video is about her boyfriend who is a twit. She is talking about how he only lives for her. And that he doesn't think for himself or having life of his own. That's why she's calling him a fool. She wishes he had more of a backbone. Some of the parts in the video or metaphors for how she feels. When she's in the plastic bag it's a metaphor of how she is suffocating in the relationship. When you see the big toy is a metaphor of how he is a toy to her. A lot of the references in the video is connected to the book in the beginning of the scene there are certain scenes in the book that is in the video. One example is when she's walking on the table in the book there is a scene where there is a feast. Then near the end when you see her in all black and just see a man's leg it is a metaphor of how he does everything for her for instance walking for her. Like she worships the ground she walks on and will never let her walk on her own two feet. in the end he wakes up and realize what he's become and leaves her. that's why the video is called a twit because throughout the video he has become a fool
