Awesome lift machines. The solenoids sound perfect to my ears.

Thx! Indeed I also love the contactor switching sequence of this controller+drive combo.

Here is a magnificent elevator that you found there, the modernization is really brilliant and the vast majority of the installation is still original, moreover, the position of the machine room under the cages is extremely rare because very often they were placed either at the bottom next to the cage or above.
Also this elevator still has these original doors and door operator even after the mod :D
A great find and wonderful video ^^

Thank you! This lift is truly special in its current condition and I hope it will stay like this. It's the type of mod I really like too, there is still much of the original character present.

    Very nice!
I would love to see that door operator working from the front... 😅

      Thx!
Sadly I wasn't able to demonstrate it from the front here as the lift was very busy and I didn't want to keep people waiting. Maybe I will upload a short from another lift of the same type just showing the door operator from the front. Luckily this is not the only one left. ^^

Excuse me, can you explain what is "PTCM board"? I tried to search on it but I didn't get much. And that board is what enabling the lift leveling without creep or you mean the drive?

The PTCM board is an interface board by Schindler in order for the Variodyn drives to be used with any controller. PTCM stands for "Print Trip Control for Modernisation". The Variodyn drive is extremely capable but of yourse it needs commands from a controller over the proprietary protocol by Schindler. The PTCM board will generate these commands based on the inputs it gets from a controller which is either not from Schindler or it's an old controller that can't directly communicate with the Variodyn. The BP304 can not directly communicate with the variodyn either, so it will just send the command to slow down to the PTCM and the PTCM will then generate the curve for the perfect stop for the drive. Teh PTCM can also be used with relay controllers from Schindler and with old Miconic B controllers. It can be sued with any system that uses a fixed braking distance. This is the relevant thing: The distances must be set correctly in the controller upon installation and then they can't be changed anymore.
