Miguel, thank you for serving our country. Especially after all that you went through as a young man, trying to be there for your family! And it is AMAZING to see that you are not only there for your family but also for your brothers and sisters in arms. Takes a lot to do what you do, Sir. Blessings to you and your loved ones!
Speedy Speedy same, my dad had one and I remember cruising in it when I was younger, then I eventually moved on to Japanese domestic market cars, when I get a stable job I'm getting a 48 fleetline for sure
Thank you for your service brother. We will never forget those who have fallen. Remember them by living your life to the fullest. Us veterans are proud of you. Keep living and keep ridin!
Thank you for your service. Without route clearance and combat engineers in general there would've been a lot more casualties. Your importance in the removal of roadside bombs will not be forgotten by some of us. Whether you agree with the politics of war or not does not change the fact that this man did an honorable job and for anyone who says otherwise can go play with IED's .
I think I get it now. Thanks for helping to offset the negative stereotypes. A man doesn't build a car like that and put so much attention into the details if he doesn't have respect for himself. That is what pushes people to greatness, believing in themselves and taking on big problems.
My first car was a 59, awesome car. Great story and thank you for your service. I'm a 23 year Army veteran and I respect you for your recovery and continued support.
It's always so cool when people fine a niche purpose in the world and run with it. Great car great guy great story. Thanks for your service, also thanks for taking care of the military men and women and the families.
I wouldn't have expected to enjoy this series, but I really like it. These aren't cars I'd build for myself, but I appreciate the effort that goes in to them. And the owners' stories are very cool.
Fellow vet and I use to low ride .. working on my 68 was the best thing I did to help with my issues I had.. well still do but I can relate to this guy . I like how your changing things up at VFW too. Keep it up brother
For all the people bitching about the episodes not being 100% about cars: the series is called lowrider roll models (play-on of role models), which is to show that not all lowriders are criminals or thugs, but that many are normal car enthusiasts, who have normal jobs, and even go the extra mile to help others out, not unlike many car enthusiasts of different flavors of automotive enthusiasm.
I remember the day I sat in a 1959 Chevy for the first time. I was 14 years old and my friend from school's father owned a Chevrolet dealership. It was the day before the grand announcement of the new 1959 Chevrolet. Back in the day, it was a big deal to hide the new models til the end of the year and make a big production of the showing of the new car. It was hidden in a barn near the dealer. When we opened the door and I looked at that car, it was like, "Wow", this car looks like a spaceship or an airplane at least. So exciting. Has always been my favorite Chevy.
great story, and attention I like to see. Truth is acknowledging your own. I am a disabled veteran who keeps going too. I seem to be an old guy, 26 years the same battles continue. A lot of pain.
#1. Thank you for your service #2. Glad you made it back and was able to mentally recover #3. Hopefully one day I can build my own Lowrider ('63, '61, '64 and '72 Impala's are my favorites - In that order)
I'm a Lowrider model myself... been threw it all.... owning a lowrider was just a dream of mine I thought to my self because of the circumstances that it would be impossible for me to own one... now I own a 87 el camino 3 pumps 8 batteries, I own a nice house, been happily married going on 8 years got a beautiful family and a great job... lowriding is what keeps me in the same path I'm on now.....
Crazy how there's still ppl who can hate on something they spent no time or money on.. do u.. fuck u hatin for.. that said awesome video thank you for ur service
Great story! Beautiful car and I'm glad there is an upside. Some of the comments make me sick but others make me proud too. These vets have given so much and many continue to suffer and all have sacrificed in ways that most cannot imagine so if you can't find or say something nice about that, then just move along. Don't feed the trolls.
Way to bury the lead! I watched the video because I was born the same year as the Impala, but the best part was to hear the story of a hero and veteran of five torus in Iraq and Afghanistan.
I appreciate the diversity on the channel. I know who MT's, or shall I say I assume that I know, target demographic is, but I'd like to see more people from all walks of life and occupations with a variety of car cultures, including the ones I don't really get into. I want to see the Mexican doctor into lowriders, the Japanese engineer into 60's American Muscle, the black architect that's into modified Hondas (ok, that's a stretch), the white guy who has a G-Body Monte Carlo on 22" rims, etc....
Nice change of pace +Motor Trend Channel, i think incorporating more of these types of videos would be good, especially with Veterans, they need a spotlight to increase awareness and to help their brothers and sisters.

Lowriders are what got me into cars
Speedy Speedy what do i have to do to get into you!

Thank you for your service brother. We will never forget those who have fallen. Remember them by living your life to the fullest.
Us veterans are proud of you.
Keep living and keep ridin!
Miguel, you spoke for all of us car nuts. Getting in our cars is our freedom, and sometimes the key to our daily recovery.
Cheers from Canada!
Big respect from across the pond. The world needs more people like you Miguel. Keep healing brother, keep making a difference. Respect.
What a brilliant attitude Miguel Alatorre .
Beautiful Impala

swSephy | Sim Racing how can you not like these cars
Thank u Miguel for your service.
So true Lowriding was not meant for gang banging, it's meant for art, family and cuture.
Always amazing to hear stories about how car culture helps people in many ways.
I wouldn't have expected to enjoy this series, but I really like it. These aren't cars I'd build for myself, but I appreciate the effort that goes in to them. And the owners' stories are very cool.
This story was touching. I'm not really a lowrider guy but this makes me want to be one.
