This is your old grandma here not one of your techie guys. I don’t know how you have the time to individualize every camper you make. To keep making all the changes to satisfy every little whim that each individual has. It just amazes me and boggles my mind that you take the time to do that for one van and then turn around and take the time to share your thoughts with everyone else. You are amazing . God bless you.
OMG your comments regarding great compatibility of smaller fellas and van builds! I retrofitted LiFPo battery, 2000W inverter, and all the cabling into my parents 5th-wheel RV. At 6'7" I had fitting challenges in installing components under the established cabinetry.
Innovative design and superior craftsmanship combined for a stunning result. The start of a typical Sunday for me … but George I’m not “a Little guy”, you’ve shattered my dreams of following in your footsteps and all my retirement plans❗️😂 LoL
Yippee!! A new lonesome roads video It must be Sunday A retired fellow in Florida once told me his method of telling time in retirement is When the big paper comes it’s Sunday
“Van builders should be little guys”…. Hahahahahaha! Love it! I’m 5’9” at 250lbs…I don’t need to be a ‘little guy’ bc I have YOU and Alex to build MY van soon hopefully! Great video as always, George! Stay safe and happy building! ~Jim~
Artistically, you were quite right to change the Shoji look to a sleek marine look. That works so well! Technically, what a beautiful door, wow! I wish we could have seen the latch on inside. Now its an unsolved mystery! In wooden pocket doors, you put a recessed latch in the middle, pull that first, then use the recessed round inserts in the door on either side. How is that done on 80/20? I would have loved to see that. Beautiful job, George! Stunningly crafted van. Every van you build wins top prize in aesthetics, functionality, user friendliness, and technical innovations. Bravo!
I love to watch you work your magic, I don't always understand what your talking about since I know nothing about electricity or solar. But you make it look so simple. If I ever need anything done I'll be bringing my stuff to you and hope you can help me at that time. Much love from So.Cal.💟
Your so right about van builders should not be big people because the small spaces you need to work in. The only positive thing about being big like myself is I big vans only that will accommodate me. 6-5 ceiling height, 32”x30” shower, 80” long bed.
Fantastic beautiful solution for a shower door, but is concerned about the dogs and their privacy when they are going to drink in the shower and do not get the door closed. (maybe just my broblem) Another problem is that my loved one has received a revelation for this interior and floor plan. Well well, she has always had a good taste;)
Love to see your trademark on the woodwork - it is the quality symbol ! Thank you for another educational info - never know that the solid electricity ground wire is so important! Would it be necessary adding a layer of rubber floor sheeting for electrical safety?
I like the rear door hose/cord organization. Modular is good for quick removal Not a fan of so many textures and variety of woods and colors for such a small space - (PRO TIP - sometimes LESS is MORE)
What keeps the door open when the earthquaking begins? That was my immediate curiosity, when you finished the shower door sequence without revealing that detail… Thank you
Shower door handle would be great if it were a recessed door pull (like on bypass closet doors), set into the aluminum frame on the inside. That way, there's no chance of ever banging an elbow (or other body part) or snagging a towel (or other body part!) on door handle.
@@HumbleRoad Do they all go back to a buss bar, or grounded to the frame nearby? (I’m not an electrician… just trying to figure it all out) You do nice work. Have gotten so many good ideas watching your videos.
New Ghost Story to share, for those long ProMaster treks as a vanlifer: It involves, as the horror-of-horrors star, not a small, hairy troll under a bridge. Oh no, it involves the small, hairy van troll who lives down under the bed, in the garage!! It never sleeps. It doesn’t stop. It fits perfect down there, twiddling his tools, awaiting the time TO STRIKE!…… in the garage!
Observation: It may be time to start using USB-C plugs or at least combo USB/USB-c. Straight USB is becoming obsolete. Regardless keep an eye on the USB voltages.
George, at 6:10 why do you say you use a 2/0 ground when most people would otherwise use a 4/0 ground. I’m planning to upgrade the electrical system in my old Interstate and I bought 4/0 cable. Wondering if I need 2/0 instead.
@@HumbleRoad I was 50/50 whether to go with the Stoett or self build one like on video but it’s the “self cleaning” that leaned me over to Stoett. Will this self built one be easy to keep clean, dry off, keep dry, keep away from mold.
Humble Road!! It must be Sunday!! Yea!!
Small man with large ideas ! Great mix !
Hey George
Very Much enjoy your Sunday Morning Videos !!
Thanks !!👍

The sound that the sliding door makes when sliding is the sound of unquestionable precision and unwaivering passion for the craft. Kudos George 👍
Yes, it is! All Alex! He continues to raise the bar every project.
@@HumbleRoad you both are raising the bar!

That is one beautiful camper you have built. The garage is perfection. The combination of 80/20 and your choices of lumber are stunning.

Plus the 80/20 will add to the heat sink of those controllers, Nice!
How cared for your clients must feel. Pulling great ideas from the ether ❇️🕊️
soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo beautiful George + staff
I worked at an RV service facility with a guy who was 7’1”. It was comical watching him duck in and out of the RVs.
One solution for an exterior handle on the shower door could be to route a circular depression into the waist-height stringer on the door, maybe?

Wow such a beautiful build... nuff said
Beautiful, clean shower door design! As always, great video George!!

Nice shower cabin for the dogs.
I mean nice shower cabin for the human couple, and nice dining room for the dogs.
Love the shower door!

that's a nice door

Door stays closed during travel

Beautiful solutions. Simple and solid. Love the marine look. What kind of flooring did you use? Thanks
The flooring is a maple and holly composite floor. The best I've ever seen.
I think I read somewhere that grounding wires should be as short as possible? Or does the large wire size negate that need?
Both. These grounds were as short as possible and oversized.
@@HumbleRoad Do they all go back to a buss bar, or grounded to the frame nearby? (I’m not an electrician… just trying to figure it all out) You do nice work. Have gotten so many good ideas watching your videos.
One single ground is best. Bring ALL to a bus bar, then ground that to the chassis.
George, what did you use for the door glides? The 8020 standard sliding door glide part#2059? Thanks!
Custom
Is it possible to know where to get that gorgeous port hole/hatch mirror? 😀 Thx

What would be your opinion about an incinerator toilet with a 400w solar arrangement? Great videos and great work.
Incinerator toilets scare me on several levels.
Observation:
It may be time to start using USB-C plugs or at least combo USB/USB-c. Straight USB is becoming obsolete. Regardless keep an eye on the USB voltages.
the wiring wil have to be beefed up too, the newer standards deliver 100+ watts
I always upsize the wire for longer runs.
Beautiful work as always. What are the shower side walls made out of?
PVC and vinyl
@@HumbleRoad Thanks!
Please make sure the shower door can be opened from outside in an emergency. People pass out in bathrooms more than other rooms.

To be clear I am referring to the GROUNDING OF THE COMPONENT CARCASS OR ENCLOSURE. Not the electrical system.
@@HumbleRoad Gotcha. Thanks for clarifying.
Please get some professional advice and guidance. If you're unsure about any part of the project, it's the safe thing to do.
Hi Sir George, can he height of the garage accommodate a bicycle, with the front wheel removed of course, thank you.

If that is what is required, then yes. I build to your individual needs.

Why not the Stoett self retracting shower door that everyone’s using?
Some people want something more substantial.
@@HumbleRoad yea, we wanted something a bit more sound proof, a bit more privacy, but we’re gonna give this stoett a try.
