I began modeling in 1960. I couldn't wait to see my finished mistakes. Across the decades, as skills developed and goals grew higher, I have learned the pleasure of scratch building and modification. Here is a helpful hint. After 64 years of building, fabricating, restoring, and collecting, the longer a project takes, the less time is required to figure out where your new gem will be displayed.
You're welcome Raoul ! Looks like they will work pretty good on the build. Will be watching this on closely to see if I might try to build the one for my friend as the Convertible. Can't wait to see some more on it.
It came out awesome. Just couldn’t film all of it. The last parts were very time consuming. Trim a little and see if it fits.i ended up just using the dog legs only. Rest will show Wednesday!
This one is coming along nicely. It was almost like watching juggling which added another layer of entertainment to the technical info. Great job! Following for sure!
There's no better reason than the styrene adventure... you never know what you can achieve if you don't get inspired and go for it... some of the ideas you've got going here are giving me fuel for this Mustang Mach I I'm turning into a Pro Street... And yes, with your inspiration and obvious skill set, the Convertible is the way to roll... definitely
I'm definitely following you on this build because i had the same thoughts the night before you released your last video, got another 65 chevelle on its way today off my buddy, but seeing how i do 3d printing I'm going with a 3d printed 283/327 and muncie 4 speed, looks good so far
Doing a awesome job, early Chevelles used the same style exhaust manifold up to late 70's The rear outlet Like the one's in the AMT 70 1/2 Z28, I don't know how far you want to go in detail but the heads on the AMT 66 nove has double hump casting molded on them which was used on higher horsepower sbc, it probably wouldn't matter to most people on a model. I'm weird that way. I'm going to build a period correct 55 Chevy gasser, I'm using the Pontiac diff out of the AMT 62 Catalina it's looks pretty close to the real one and it has the correct detail on the axle in the center of the wheel. Sorry for writing about nonsense
Thanks for the heads up on the manifolds. Didn’t realize they were the rear dump design for 64 Chevelles like my real 71 was. I’m sure I have some in my parts stash.
The res kit Convertible 1964 Chevelle Malibu SS use the brown Boot , and the Resin Top as a Convertible removable Top. You will have fun . The New Craftsman Series promo AMT 1965 GTO is a (2) in one Convertible Boot and or Convertible removable Top.
The new tool AMT Craftsman 65 GTO Hardtop is hardtop only with the top molded on. The older tool AMT 65 GTO is convertible body with a hardtop roof you can glue on.
The Missing Link Resin kit 1964 Chevelle Malibu SS is the one that's fun to work with for a Convertible carefully mark your cuts before cutting! Mask tape area's won't be cut.

Same here!
I enjoyed this kit. Went together very nice. 😊
Awesome. 68 Coronet was the same way.
With all of the effort you have put into the model I think I would go ahead and build a convertible.
I have. Have 2 more videos up about that now.
That's going to be awesome...great effort to figure it all out...experience @ its best.
Thank you!

Very nice kit and alterations. I think a convertible would be the icing on the cake too.
Thank you!
Great video, and am looking forward to see how this one eventually turns out!
Thank you!
Now I want to build one. 😁👍 Rag or hard top you're not going to wrong. It's going to look nice either way.

Glad you're paving the way as I plan to combine three kits to get a '64 wagon from the AMT '65. Then go for an El Camino...? Thx
Sounds like some fun projects!
Coming along nicely!
Thanks!
Quick progress on this one!,i would make it a convertible and use the resin body for a hardtop.
I think I’m going to do that. Since resin is more brittle. I will leave that a hardtop.

That gasser sounds sweet, and yea you're coreect about the exhaust
Making it a convertible would be a great idea.
Thanks.
I'd definitely love to watch you cut that top off . Thatd be a great Tutorial for us

Thanks! I'm considering it!

Make hinges for your Hood use paper clips with small diameter Styene tubing
Thanks. I plan to just make a duplicate of what is missing.

I have used a sharpie to mark my cuts.

Make the Missing Link Resen Kit 1964 Chevelle Malibu SS to a Convertible, so you don't mess with the Windshield pins, and Sail Panels on the AMT Craftsman Series promo 64 Chevelle Malibu SS Hard Top
Thanks. I appreciate your thoughts on this.
I think you should build the hardtop first
Thanks!
Nice mods!No convertible!But maybe i shouldnt vote because i dont like convertibles!🙃😉
Thank you. Not everyone likes them, but that’s OK!
Don't cut the New Craftsman Series promo 64 Chevelle Malibu SS Hard Top, Cut the Missing Link 1964 Chevelle Malibu SS Resen Kit to Fab a Convertible 1964 Chevelle Malibu SS
Thanks. I’ll leave the resin a hardtop. The resin is stronger and it’s just easier to work on plastic.
