Hello, For example, If the gross total income is 7lac (Salary + capital gain per year) 1.5L PPF 50k standard description HRA and other exemption around 40k 7,00,000 - 1,50,000 - 50,000 - 40,000 = 4,60,000. In this case, we just have to show the capital gain in ITR. But there won't be any tax applied as the taxable income is below 5Lac, so there will be a rebate of 12,500. Is this correct?

Sir I might sound silly But this STCG is to be filed in ITR or deducted in the return? Same for LTCG also? If deducted then still we need to specify in ITR??
This is not TDS - full amount will come into your bank account, you have to calculate the taxable amount by yourself and mention the capital gains while filing ITR.
Few points 1. Mutual fund having exposure to foreign, LTCG is 3 years 2. CG loss csn be carry forwarded for 7 years and can be cancelled out with profit.
If I am withdrawing from MF after 1 year, and I am in the 30% Tax slab basis my salary income- 1. If total earning from MF is below 1 lakh, do I need to pay any tax on this or it is totally exempted? 2. If total earning from MF is above 1 lakh, do I need to pay tax only 10% or basis my tax slab which is 30%?
Please advise if STCG is say for example 50,000 and LTCG is 200,000, so STCG tax = 8,200 LTCG tax = 16,400 Total tax = 24,600 But total income = 250,000, which is below tax slab. There is no other income. Please advise on the tax amount payable.
As you are making more than 2.5L a year so YES YOU NEED TO FILE ITR. But you'll get many benefits also. First if basis exemption of 250000 and also you get deduction of 50,000 for salary income.

You will get all profit in your demat. Brokerage deducting other small taxes, fees. You have to manage by your own for STCG/LTCG in your ITR. In coming days everyone have to file ITR or gov. will share filled form and you need to justify/counter it.

Yes I think so. Anyways when you fill the short term gains details in ITR it will automatically calculate zero tax if you are under the taxable limit.

You have to file tax showing that the profit is under 1 lac and tax paid will be nil but you to file just to show that how you made the money.
