What?! Draft change is SO EASY! Wirfs over Becton! I also think it speaks to the philosophy of Best Player Available! The talk was taking Becton because he’s a Left Tackle whereas Wirfs was planned to be a Right Tackle who could play Left.
And not only Wirfs, I remember during that draft while I expected we’d draft OT a part of me was hoping we would have drafted Lamb because I liked him. Jefferson went after Becton too
@ yup. BPA! I just checked football reference….Wirfs has been a 4x Pro Bowler and 2x All Pro. The guys who used to be at PFF said the league used to be about building inside - out. Meaning strong Lines will win and either help their Receivers and DBacks respectively. Now it is believed to be outside - in. The dominant Receivers and Cornerbacks will help their Line more these days since blocking Defensive Lines or covering a Receiver can only last a few seconds anyway. Now think of either the Leo Williams or Jamal Adams drafts - which had Mahomes? Jets should be firing unlimited rounds at QB every draft and offseason. Always be developing a QB.
You say Rodgers gonna hurt the cap… but if Rodgers stays he’s going to restructure- everyone knows that. Please you keep Adams- who will also restructure. He’s by far the best option bridge qb for us.
@@DoubleR29 eh doing a national show on McAfee creates an added spotlight on him and the team. He is a controversial player for his actions and words off the field. I am not sure how his teammates felt by the end of the season. Garrett Wilson expressed his negative feelings. Other guys spoke out too. I disagree with his thoughts outside of football but I respect people’s right to say whatever they want. Plus his “crazy” trips and medical treatments are fine with me too. He’s a QB in the NFL. That has to take an enormous toll on you both physically and mentally. Do whatever you want. I’d want Rodgers back for the reason that I think he could play better being a year removed from the Achilles injury. Let’s see what happens.
It's interesting what a bad off season Douglas had in 2024. He let the defensive roster fall off the shelf with both subtractions and additions. He loses or gets rid of JFM, Huff, Q Jefferson. He brings in Reddick(eventually) and Kinlaw. He keeps CJ Moseley 1 year too long. He relies on Tony Adams. Sure Jermaine Johnson gets hurt but that's not the story. Douglas missed on over half the defense's starters in 1 off season! It just shows you the window to win is smaller than everyone thinks because sooner rather than later your strengths can become less of a strength. and you just don't have all the time in the world.
If only the Jets hadn't made the obviously bad decision to trade for Devante Adams, then they would have another 3rd round pick. And if they hadn't made the other obviously bad decision to trade for Aaron Rodgers, they'd have two more second round picks. But who could known those obviously bad decisions wouldn't work out?
I don’t want Rodgers anywhere near this team. If he’s on this team he will thoroughly control things on the offensive end and bring all his cronies with him. I want TOTAL fumigation of the 2024 Jet team from a cultural and personnel standpoint.
Aaron Rodgers isn't the same player as he was, he threw 28 touchdown passes and 11 interceptions. If Rodgers release or retirement, who is out there to get a QB in free agency?
You can hate Rodgers all you want but he’s the best option for the team at Qb to win games. And he’s not nearly as “toxic” as you want to pretend he is. Lots of Jets players have been open about wanting him back, including Breece.
@@cp3ridge1412 Do you REALLY think that next years Jets are gonna vie for a playoff spot even with Aaron Rodgers? Even less with an Aaron Rodgers who’s gonna meddle in the OC’s game plans? No way. I’m satisfied with just getting a bridge QB and drafting our future QB this year, perhaps Jaxon Dart from Ole Miss, and developing him for the future like the successful franchises do. Man you talk like Aaron Rodgers is gonna be playing for the next 10 seasons. Been there, done that. I say NO!
@@gustavfarley1983 A bridge QB, Justin Fields, Russell Wilson, anyone. Then draft our future QB in this draft, maybe Jaxon Dart, to be developed properly like all the successful franchises do. It’s not like we’re a shoe-in to make the playoffs this season even with Rodgers.
I think the Jets are the worst team at drafting 2nd round WR, its kind of insane how bad they become in the NFL. 2012- Stephen Hill 2015- Devin Smith 2020 - Denzel Mims 2021- Elijah Moore
If I were the jets I would’ve asked Glenn if he wanted Rodgers as a test, and if he said yes, then he can’t be my coach. I imagine if the jets told Glenn he had to take him, he would’ve walked. He’s turning 42 on one leg, we’re starting a new program. Absolutely not.
None of the Aaron cap convo includes the fact that the cap is going up, so pushing it down the road helps
Hope the Jets keep Rodgers and the new OC make em spread the ball around a bit more. Who out there is better than Rodgers?
Tristen Wirfs over Bechton!

It’s gotta be like Becton or Mims
When the Jets took Ruckert and Clemons, I desperately wanted them to grab Zach Tom. I’ll stand by that one
for the draft question - I don't know if it is limited to first round or not but if not I am taking Puka Nacua over Abanikanda
The best play is retaining Rodgers and Adams in 2025. Jets won't be able to replicate that quality the draft or free agency
Glenn needs to go if it brings back rodgers!!
Even without moving up for McBride, look at the TEs that went after Ruckert 🫣 Cade Otton, Bellinger, Jake Ferguson, Likely, Chig…

But he’s a circus for this team. The distraction is not worth the production. In many people’s eyes. Just offering the counter.
@ it’s only a circus when we or the media label it as such. His teammates love him.

We need to bring him back he's our better option
Wirfs over Becton
Sewell over Wilson

Free agency is the most overrated aspect of the NFL. The salary cap is easily manipulated. One more year of Rodgers will help Glenn
Draft RT Will Campbell.
Jets need to trade down twice take Warren from penn state. Late first. Early second take Jackson dart.
I think they'll plan to. Still have to restructure his contract as well as Davonte's
Guys acting like Rodgers wont take a pay cut
draft d line or Abdul Carter if he falls. nothing cute. bring back the rod and draft a rookie qb contract in 2026, solves all
Swapping picks - the easy answer is Wirfs or CeeDee over Becton
Could have also just taken the better prospect and player in McMillan over Corley
Wirfs over Becton

@christinvanpelt221 No, but would it really have been worse
I pray the Jets can send like a 4th or 5th to Vegas for Michael Mayer
And draft Mitchell Evans
