If the raiders or nyg have the #1 pick they should not get a QB they should get Travis Hunter instead and then they can try to trade up to get the QB because they can probably still get the QB later by giving up their 2nd and 3rd round pick to move up to the first round. But probably just skip the QB or get the best available in the second round.
Travis Hunter will probably end up settling as a WR. The NFL talent and schemes are different. I dont think he can cover half the players in the league as effective as he does in college.
Travis is the best player-there’s no doubt about it. My views on him keep evolving, and this opinion may change again. But for now, I think he should be used as a full-time wide receiver. Why? While he won’t get the ball every play, his presence as a threat on offense is a nightmare for defenses. Since he wouldn’t be the primary target, he’d often match up against the opposing team’s 2nd, 3rd, or even 4th defensive back. Create a specific package of plays for him and use him as a decoy in some situations. Additionally, let him play on defense for about 10 snaps per game, covering the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th best receiver based on the package. While opposing coaches may try to tire him out by rotating in fresh receivers and running deep routes, he’ll still make plays. Why not primarily use him on defense? NFL receivers typically rotate to avoid playing every snap, whereas corners are on the field much longer due to the nature of the position. Playing primarily on defense could shorten his career because of the sheer volume of time spent on the field. By focusing on offense and selectively using him on defense, Travis can maximize his abilities and potentially extend his career. This is just one of many scenarios, but I believe it strikes the best balance for his long-term success.
I agree with field and think the ignorance of Mel's argument against desperation shows just how desperate he is for actual knowledge of the NFL. The Patriots are beyond desperate at LT. You can see the desperation in all the RG's we have played this year. But these two being a little higher on the Tackle class than most gives me hope (it will probably be false hope)
Pats are desperate for O line help but they shouldn’t be so desperate that they reach on an OT at 4th overall, I’m all about taking the best football player available and none of the OL players in the first round could be considered the best football player available.. I’m a pats fan, and the last thing I want to see is them reaching on a tackle and passing up on an athlete because they were desperate for O line help (especially when they have 118m in cap space)…
Correction, Deion was a three way player. Offense, defense and special teams, also played pro baseball on the side. No one is Deion but Travis is the best two way player.
The Bengals had that choice years ago. They drafted the WR. Chase has been all world. But they took him 1 pick before Sewell. How would JB look if he had a dominant Oline.
I think the #1 defender should be ABDUL CARTER! I’ve watched a few Penn state games, he constantly is disruptive. He’s an impact player to whatever team drafts him IMMEDIATELY on third down.
Travis is not going to play 2 positions in the NFL for a couple of reasons. If he goes to the combine he will have to display that he can actually run routes, not sure that he will be anything special in that area. He is good at finding soft spots but you don't draft someone #1 because of that. Secondly, he will eventually sign a contract and his pay will be based on 1 position. If he is signed as a wr the team is not going risk him getting injured playing defense. If he is signed as a cb, and plays some wr he will not be compensated for it and the NFLPA will not fight for a different pay structure just for him. L Bell was a great example of this in Pittsburgh. I hope he goes #1 and I hope his agent talks him out of giving a team a bunch of free snaps.
Greeny nailed it. “He (Hunter) can’t be pretty and have a good personality in the NFL”. He won’t play both sides, if he is a WR he’ll play no CB at all. If he’s a CB he maybe play offense a little bit here and there, maybe. Hes not the best WR. I feel like there’s 5-7 better WRs and at CB Hunter would be either 1 or 2 him and Will Johnson.
To me have him at both. He may end up as your best DB and your best WR. But do not start him as your every down at either. Have him in for your 3 and 4 wr sets and have some offensive packages for him and do the same on D where he is in in on nickel and dime packages and for critical stops if he does indeed end up being THAT GOOD. but let the man play both ways just limit the snaps. i hate how the NFL can be at the same time the smartest football people in the word yet also be so limited in their thinking of how to deploy weapons.
I agree. I think whoever drafts him should play him at wherever they need him and then package him in to start off. And then if he proves he can play both and stay healthy, then let him do it

Shedeur isn't the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree. He can't read the Defenses and runs around until one of his elite receivers opens up.
Yates is a case of it's not what you know it's who you know😂. Throw that board away😂
Travis Hunter will probably end up settling as a WR. The NFL talent and schemes are different. I dont think he can cover half the players in the league as effective as he does in college.
The NFL will determine his position
If he is #1 at wr and cb, what does it say about this wr and cb class?
Hunter helps you win games better as a WR.
It’s funny says Yates says he can’t run and than it’s straight clips of him run out the pocket
Steward from A& M perfect 👍 fit for jets..
Field said a QB has positional value but yet didn’t have Shadeur or Cam Ward on his board
If Patriots don't take Travis Hunter and he is available at their pick I'm out replace 12 with 12 new Goat #
I agree there’s a gap between Hunter and everyone else. He won’t see the 4th pick.
Travis will have a HOF career as a WR & CB
Mel kiper shouldn’t be listened to, this the same goof who was complaining about Cover 2/ 2 high safeties and wanting to ban the scheme
So what’s the draft order?
How you rank someone as the 14th prospect and then say he might go 1st or 2nd in the draft! How Yates get this job….. got dirt on somebody important 😂
Hunter is 1, Jeanty is 2, then there is a huge gap to 3 and 4 with Graham and Johnson.
Giants should go all in for Shedeur and Jags for Travis
Primary position should be WR
I'm using Travis as my wr 1 and 3rd down cb basically nickel
And then if he proves he can play both and stay healthy, then let him do it
Field Yates said JJ McCarthy would be ranked higher then shedeur and cam and said he’s better then Jayden. Dude is the new gen skip bayless
