Great video, and I'm glad I found this as I need to replace the same mirror on my step daughters car as the same thing happened to hers when she was going down a country lane. Thanks for making it so easy and straightforward, and the advice about the piece of string will definitely come in handy. 😁👍
@@r7bkr no problem buddy. It seems to be a common occurrence on the roads nowadays. I hope she is ok from the incident as it shook my daughter up. I have a few other videos on Fiesta maintenance in the channel so please do check them out and feel free to fire over any questions also 👍

Hi Andy, I have a gap on the bottom of the driver's side mirror, about three eighths are there different mirror fixings for different years? Mines a 2008 fiesta zetec, tried screwing the bolt in but the mirror won't go any nearer the door . Any ideas 🤔
@@johncastillon sounds like the mirror is not “all the way home” when mounting it. It should fit snuggly. I did see somewhere in the comments that an aftermarket mirror did not fit. However, mine was aftermarket and fitted fine. Our car is a 2012 mk7 (pre mk 7.5 facelift model)
i just got ford fiesta 2012 but the mirror tilt doesnt go all the way up the way it does on the left side. i took the cover off but the motor stops right at the top and there is no more room to move. do you have any recommendation?
@@bajektechbytes sounds like the glass is getting stuck. I would pop the glass off. You can do it with a plastic pry tool around the edge of the glass, being careful not to crack it. It’s attached on a round plastic bracket. Once off, move the mirror motor and see if that frees it up. Then put the switch back to the middle, reattach the glass and retest. Let me know how you get on! 👍
@@andycharger still the same, I cleared the inside but also I can’t see anything obvious. The motor at the bottom in moving in and out but I feel like the mirror goes too low
My drivers side wing mirror isn't adjusting and the side repeater isn't working. Do you know what the fault could be? I took the wing mirror cover off and the cables look ok. if it's a fuse, do you know the location of the fuse I need to check? I know there's a fusebox behind the glovebox but I could not see from the diagram which fuse points to the wing mirror adjuster and side repeater. Any help is appreciated!
Hi. Sounds to me like the connector is not secured into the plug although I take it from your reply you have tried that. If you can remove the mirror to get access to the plug, ensure it is clipped in tightly and you hear the “click” as it engages. The fuse is a 7.5 amp fuse and is next to another 7.5 amp fuse that is labelled for the electric windows. You can see that one from the little icon but the mirrors one often does not have an icon. I hope that helps and you get it sorted.
@@andycharger thanks! turns out the previous owner fitted an incorrect wing mirror unit so the plug wasn't even plugged it as it doesnt fit. I bought a new one and forgot to tie a string when removing the old unit. now when my window go down it gets caught in the wing mirror cable. How do I know which hole to feed it through to? i tried to stick my finger through the hole from the connector end but it is too small. I tried having my window completely down before feeding the cable through but i can even feel where the cable is.
@@andycharger yeah you’re right! Figured it out! I found that when fed the cable through if I kept the cable as close to the hinge/inside of the door panel and ran the cable down I’ll eventually find the hole! Bit fiddly but at least I know for next time to tie a string before removing the old unit!
I need to replace my passenger side mirror as some scumbag decided it was fun to kick off. Going to buy a replacement from eBay and try myself 😊 thanks for the vid
Ah man! What a pain. The only good thing about it is that it is a fairly cheap job compared to a lot of wing mirrors ( my Mondeo one a few years ago was £500!). Good luck and let me know if you get stuck 👍

just done this and window doesn't fully open, so annoying. Tied string round it as well but the route through just seems so tight. I've got an 11 plate fiesta and it was way more fiddly than you made it look. Or you're just a pro!
Ha ha! Thanks for your comment but I am far from a pro. Mine did the same so I did a window reset. Ignition on, window all the way down. Let go of the button, then hold the button down again for 5 seconds. Then put the window up and let go. Then pull the switch up for 5 seconds. Then turn ignition off. Turn ignition back on and test the window. It worked for me. Hopefully it does for you too.
