This is the first time I realized how unique the first kill of the first episode was. He actually dug up the bodies rather than gathering pictures, went out of his way to set up a separate room just to show the guy the corpses, and killed him not with a knife to the chest but the actual butchering of the body. It’s also one of only a few kills Dexter consistently references, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he had a specific reason to go the extra mile with him.
i think its cause with other victims they most likely had a funeral, and were buried in the graveyard, so kinda hard to do that, while the 1st one, its kids missing, and dexter found out the dumping ground, and its possible staged where the dude does his own ritual. it could also be for the law enforcement to find their bodies and update the families, so its the cherry on top of his package. the few others that we know that went missing is with trinity killer, who cements said kids into the houses his building. dexter was able to save one, but the others would be almost impossible to do so. in season 5, with luna, the girl he saved from becoming a barrel girl, once said spot was found, law enforcement was investigating and thats why dexter had to throw them off the trail. but honesty what would have made this video better, would have been all a seperate tally of all kills who were legal by the code of harry, vs not. just to see the number of times he violated cause, i think at most it was 2 kills, it was the friend in the hospital, and deb. those were 2 ppl who ended it for no reason, while another tally for self defense.
