I had the pleasure of interviewing Kin Vassy in 1979, just after he released “Makes Me Wonder If I Ever Said Goodbye”. What a GREAT record, a phenomenal talent and such a gracious interview. We chatted for quite awhile on the air. Mr. Vassy would release a few more songs into the 1980s. Each one showing his incredible talent. Unfortunately, Kin passed away much too young and before I had the chance to meet him face to face. If I could sing and pick my voice, it would sound like Kim Vassy!
I've ALWAYS liked your dad's voice more than Kenny's. Not saying it's better, just my preference. My Dad and I bought the album "The Ballad Of Calico" when it came out in 1972. Thank you for posting Karla. This is awesome to know you saw this.
And interesting of study, to hear & see Kenny playing the string bass, which apparently was his primary instrument during his stint with the NCM, Bobby Doyle Trio.....
It's so very awesome to see "School Teacher" "Somewhat" Live. I wonder... did they tour in '72? And BTW, where is the drummer? Did he quit before this?
I can hear percussion( bongos, conga drums) in the background,so am guessing/ assuming/ that would be Mickey Jones. I think he was with the FE right close to the end,1975-76

Boy my dad could sing! Thank you Mike for posting this!
Your Dad could much more than sing, he could belt it out with emotion and passion!

@@jagger9031 If you study her face, she looks like him. That's his daughter.
Kin Vassy had one of the most powerful voices i've ever heard.
Kenny wasn't the only STAR.. The WHOLE THE ENTIRE BAND WAS. Kin as GREAT as Kenny as was Jimmy & Terry on vocals.
Kin was absolutely fabulous on this.
I freaking love this band!
A joyful soul. Glad I got to meet him
This live version of HELLO LA.... WHAT A GEM!!!!
Watching there TV show , you knew this guy could deliver the Good' s when he got the chance.
Thanks so much for posting this! Kin Vassy was a huge talent, Terry is great, the band was really underrated.
No problem! They are great aren't they!
came here after his vocals on Zappa's Montana literally made my soul vibrate.
Yippy-Aye-O-Ty-Ay!!!
awesome singer!Kin was one of the best.
Kin had a wonderful gutsy voice and he seemed like a nice person too.
I gave Terry that shirt.
Hard to believe that just seven years later Kenny would be singing The Gambler....about 180 degrees from this
This guy is a GREAT singer.

He must have liked it! That's pretty cool he wore it on the show.
Bass players getting the shaft ex. 44296334: that's Kenny fucking Rogers being covered up by the singer
Thank you for sharing !! I love it!
AWESOME VOICE, I HAVEN'T HEARD THOS GUY SING BEFORE EITHER
Strange to see Kenny in the background. Mary Arnold had already replaced Thelma Camacho. Great group!
