Paul is the best kind of opponent. Not because he wants to win. Not because he buys the "coolest new kit." Because he's in it for what it's meant for: Be fun. Have fun. share a good time with friends. World needs more Pauls.
Kyle McAurley agreed, I think players that pick armies for fluff, and other reasons are way cooler than players that just try to put as much power models as they can on the table.
First time I watched Paul he played Orks and he randomly shot his vehicles in no particular order or strategy because that was " the Orky thing to do".
I like every battle report that you put up, but this one was my favorite. I like that your crew likes to play with a more narrative mind for the game than the usual tournament-style of play. this is a hobby of shared experiences and you make it enjoyable to watch. Make more battle reports with Paul, because the both of you would be fun to play against every day of the week.
Paul is just the epitome of good gamer. This guy loves the game, he plays for narrative. He gets excited at other peoples success. At 27:29 he even points out when his opponent has more hits than he sees. What an amazing person. This hobby needs more people like him.
Always love watching batreps with you and paul , infact you two are the reason i started playing 40k back in april when i first stumbled onto your channel through my discover feed
This must now be the 5th time I've watched this Battle Report and for me it is the best. Plenty of explosions, last ditch rolls, great terrain setup and two armies going hell for leather in the centre. Oh and Paul is in it. Hats off to you Winters, you sure do know how to do 'em.
Paul is easily the best guest on the channel so far, absolutely love his enthusiasm and he's such a great sport, hope to see lots more of him in the future!
Lol, I love your distain & ignorance for all things xenos. Even when Paul is explaining his army you’re like “yeah yeah, the green guys, they’re important?” You’re a true one eyed imperial Winters, love it.
I loved this battle. Back and forth, lead changing hands, tied up, extended round. Both players are in it for the narrative, not for the win. What a treat to watch these replays. I'm cheering and groaning right along side both dice rolls. Fantastic battle.
That was insanely good! I loved the army match up and this city terrain (in all it's carnations) is one of my favourite setups throughout the Winters bat rep catalogue. I am a very happy viewer. Thanks, Paul and flipping thank you Winters!
Really great. I appreciate Paul's commentary in the beginning on some of the varying lore surrounding the Eldar aspects. I enjoy hearing that stuff. Thanks!
What a great battle! This is the longest battle report I've watched, with the largest pointed armies I've seen. This is the first time I've seen a psycher's brain blow out, as well as a vehicle explode, and I got to see it twice. Brilliant. Awesome skirmishes, tense moments, and such a great guest, you and Paul are fantastic.
I've watched many battle reports on RUclips so far and this is the finest one I've seen! Great players who have great attitudes. Plus there were so many twists! Fine work, sirs. Paul, you are awesome! Fantastic job representing the eldar!
I love Paul, always a good batrep when he's involved. The fact he will choose units for the fluff of the narrative as opposed to just choosing the good units makes him even more awesome
What a great battle, I love how Paul and Winters play such narrative based games. Not always the best tactical moves, but moves that make narrative sense. Makes their battles a pleasure to watch. The Battle grids always look amazing too. Well done guys.
wow!! this is one of the most exiting battle reports i have ever seen!! And believe me, i have seen many. Great job guys! I loved everything about this game. It had 2 beautiful armies, an even more beautiful table with character, 2 amazing and honest players, amazing tactics from both sides. It also had great suspense until the last second of the video and it had a great and vivid narrative. You can wake me up for such a battle report at any time!
Really enjoy the fact you are both very aware you are playing a game and it's meant to be fair. Keep inviting Paul back please I'm a huge fan of your games. As a new player I find it really nice that you explain what you are doing and how stuff works, it makes it easy for me to follow! Big up the imperium.
Alaitoc are actually more focused on the stealth/scouting aspects - they focus mostly on the Rangers (scouts/snipers). Biel-Tan is the one that focuses on the more varied Aspect Warrior style of play, but the Alaitoc trait does serve this style of army very well! Great battle report as always, love the terrain as always.
absolutely LOVED this battle report, I watched it over 2 days lol great narrative, first time I've really liked a focused narrative, your opponent (elder player) was such a great match and compliment to the way you like to play and I really liked learning about the xenos scum hahaha great game
Cracking game! Great to see Pail on back. Love to see games that go down to the last few dice rolls. Very entertaining. Keep up the good work, and keep rolling sixes.
Winters, hearing you pronounce Alaitoc, "Al-tay-ohk", versus the proper "Al-ay-a-tock", could drive a lesser man to comment on it. I am that lesser man ;)
Great game guys really loved that. Paul seems a really nice guy and the lists made for really fun exciting game to watch. Thanks for the plug again Winters your a legend ;) Cheers.
Didn’t expect to enjoy this as much as I did! Very refreshing to see people playing a fun and yet strategic game without “optimised” armies. A fantastic example of what an awesome experience this game can be for the more casual player. Lovely painted armies on a great looking table too. The fully hobby package.
Just finished watching, and this game is what 40k is all about. So many tense cinematic moments, such an epic game. Thank you Winters and Paul for an epic battle report.
I wish there were folks around here who appreciate a good narrative campaign around here. This is my favorite channel because Winters always turns it into a story rather than a mindless battle to be forgotten. Thumbs up from me.
Way to go with the win! Was soon tired of seeing guests lose. :) JK all love for all! Great game all around. Just loving seeing more narrative focused battles. 😁
big thumps up for his " i dont take it, cause it does not fit the narrativ" !! never watched such a long battlereport to the end - realy realy awesome!
Great batrep again Winters, think you were a bit overconfident with the Stormraven assault but overall very well played tactically by both players. Great to see Paul again, you are both legends.
I envy you guys so much... I dream of playing games like you guys. I don't know people in my town who play and it's been years since i played my last game... Thanks for the awesome content!
What a great battle! Loved the spearheading deep strike of the Space Marine Captian & Terminators ... they did arrive under a hailstorm of incoming fire and weren't quite as effective as they might of been, but it was still exciting stuff to watch. Credit also to Paul for being such an entertaining opponent.
Great battle Winters and Paul. Love the enthusiasm and the lore. I hope that storm pilot was court martialed for running away. There was nothing on the auspex!
Fun to watch! Great Job... but Paul, I think you forgot the serpent shield damage reduction at 1:23:39 , that would have saved it from destruction and then BLOWING UP (not to mention the command point lol). Lost a lot of guys there.
Excellent game gentlemen, I’m by no means an Eldar fan, but I quite enjoyed that Eldar list. Usually Eldar lists are hover bike, rinse, repeat. This list with the variety of Eldar infantry was quite refreshing. It almost makes me want to put together an Eldar army......almost. Heresy!!
Paul is the best kind of opponent.
Not because he wants to win.
Not because he buys the "coolest new kit."
Because he's in it for what it's meant for: Be fun. Have fun. share a good time with friends. World needs more Pauls.
I agree
Yesssss
Plus he knows his rules and is not a pushover in a pleasant way.
I agree 100%
Paul looks genuinely like an amazing guy to hang out with
"I ignored a better model for the narrative."
One reason why Paul is great.
Kyle McAurley agreed, I think players that pick armies for fluff, and other reasons are way cooler than players that just try to put as much power models as they can on the table.
Yep fully agree. I think he is one of the better opponents on this channel
Kyle McAuley w.
First time I watched Paul he played Orks and he randomly shot his vehicles in no particular order or strategy because that was " the Orky thing to do".
And the thing is Paul's fluff (both in army and tactics) usually works out pretty well for him
Paul sure knows his stuff about Eldar! Lots of Scorpions too...nice!:)
+StrikingScorpion82. Cheers fella.
Best guest ever, Paul is great. Love the table and even more love the narrative lists and deployment. It's great to see style over efficiency.
PAUL!!!!! I LOVE when Winters and Paul hash it out! :D
+LardXray. Me too
LardXray Me three.
I love that Paul is not afraid to get into it and knows how to have a great time. A reminder why I love the hobby in the first place.
Paul Curbishley hey paul, do you recall what other battle reports you've been on with winters? I'd love to go back and watch any that I missed.
I don't know why, but when the camera panned to Paul I just felt a sudden boost of happiness
I think this settles it. You are most definitely the finest Wh40k channel on the internet, Sir. I salute you.
FleetAdmiralHalsey. Thanks man.
You're most welcome. I'm always up for visiting you for a game if you're up to the challenge.

I love it when Brian Blessed comes to fight Winters.
Lol I was thinking this too. The Brian Blessed of the warhammer community! What a legend.
This must now be the 5th time I've watched this Battle Report and for me it is the best. Plenty of explosions, last ditch rolls, great terrain setup and two armies going hell for leather in the centre. Oh and Paul is in it. Hats off to you Winters, you sure do know how to do 'em.

Paulllll!!! Best guest ever! Him and the Black Legion guy! Fantastic batrep Winters!
What a battle. Exciting to the end; with two really nicely put together and flavorful armies too.
This was a real treat.
Really great. I appreciate Paul's commentary in the beginning on some of the varying lore surrounding the Eldar aspects. I enjoy hearing that stuff. Thanks!
The explosions. So many wonderful explosions. This was the most entertaining batrep I've watched in months, hats off to both of you fine fellows!
Joel Augustin I too love when vehicles detonate. Even when my tanks explode in the middle of my guard gunline, I can't help but smile.
Every report with Paul is an absolute pleasure to watch
What a great battle!

Excellent guys, a real nail biter. Table and forces look great and the player banter was very amusing! Well done Paul!!
Paul's the best, so positive to play with, doesn't get upset or angry just has fun. There was some crazy dice in this game!
Thanks for a fantastic game! Well prepared, narrated and fought out on the table. This was a true pleasure to watch!
Paul! The guy everyone stops what they are doing when he comes in the room and shouts his name! Loving the army. Thanks for the upload Winters!
Exciting and very narrative, the best 40k batrep I've seen. Stellar work!
This was awesome! And Paul's an awesome player as well as a all round good guy pointing out stuff like extra saves and such.
I love Paul, always a good batrep when he's involved. The fact he will choose units for the fluff of the narrative as opposed to just choosing the good units makes him even more awesome
Paul is just an absolute legend. Best type of person to play 40k against.
Paul is amazing, all the flavour and fluff background he brings with him. He is my favourite guest by far. Keep it going!!!

I've never played WH4k, but this was awesome. Thanks for being clear and swift on the editing!
Cracking game! Great to see Pail on back. Love to see games that go down to the last few dice rolls. Very entertaining.
Keep up the good work, and keep rolling sixes.
Best bat rep I've seen in ages! Competitive Narrative for the win
Paul, you have a great talent for forging the narrative!
Loving the lore and story time combined to make such fluffy eldar army. I may now have a reason to collect. Nice work gents!
Ive always been a chaos and orks fan from the very beginning, but your 13th i am a big fan of, thank you for your enjoyable battle reports
Great battle - so much toing and froing! And great banter with Paul! 😁👍🏻
Fantastic battle report Winters, and always good to see Paul again. Your Space Marine Chapter is brilliant good sir.
Nice battlereport I did really enjoy it! Keep up the good work Winters!!!
Awesome looking board, superb effort!
