- Kato N Scale Automatic Crossing Gate
Recorded on 10/7/17
Our very own, Andrew Mangalindan put together the Kato N Scale Automatic Crossing Gate on the N Scale layout at the A-Train4014 Productions Headquarters. He has been working on it for almost an entire day on Saturday. By the end of the day, it was finished being tested and ready to go. Overall, we’re happy about adding this special accessory to the N Scale layout. It operates just like a real crossing gate that we would see out in the real world. If you would like us to review this product or locomotives, tracks, and rolling stock, let us know in the comments. Shoutout to Antioch Model Trains and Hobby for your support and for letting us shop for our N Scale trains and accessories. Авто/Мото
They took the existing Japanese Kato crossing gate and painted them up to look more American, along with adding North American crossing bell sounds in place of the Japanese ones. (In addition to the mechanical crossing bell sound heard here, they also include the sounds of another mechanical bell and the General Signal and WCH e-bells.)
Looks nice! Imagine if they were this fast in real life though :D
Any chance you can tells how to doing and we’re to get parts
Very cool video...just got a set of these gates and they work very well!
Good video. I had planned on getting one of these. I just wish the arms would drop slower.
That’s exactly what I thought
They are too toyish for my taste..
Why's that
That’s what I thought thomas
I like trains
Where do you get one of these
Where do you get one of these?
oh ok cool thanks for the same
Gates move way too fast. Looks very toylike.
Nice!
very nice
Thank you!
The KATO engineers should have been able to design a more realistic operation with slower movement of the gates. It looks like too much of a toy! Their track system is great but this crossing gates/lights device leaves a lot to be desired.
Look really cool, you going to get the Kato signals too?
We'll get there when the time and money comes (If they're still around too).
Question, I am going to be seeing a orange Metra, are those rare (I have seen a yellow Metra
@Illinois Railfan Productions on my channel, I have a yellow Metra
Very nice! Are those Bachmann steam engines at 3:05?
Yes, there are two Bachmann steam engines in our N Scale rolling stock: Nickel Plate Road 765 and Pere Marquette 1225.
A-Train4014 Productions So you can also run bachmann on Kato tracks?
Yes, you can run Bachmann locomotives on Kato tracks. However, some o the Bachmann locomotives I own they don't take off very smooth. -Andrew Mangalindan
Is that one ho or n scale? I know there is an n scale. Was wondering/hopeing Kato made a dcc compatible n scale crossing like yours.
Duh. There was 2 locos. You have the Model number for that?
It is an N Scale product made by KATO USA and it is DCC Friendly.
Good!
Those gates just slap down to fast. They should be an adjustment on them. That would be kool. I build these for H.O. scale works just like the real deal sounds flash an slow movement. Better than this kato. I have built 2 for customers an they love them on their layouts. I was surprised when i first seen this unit they did a great job just should have added in a adjustment knob for those gates
Where did you get that I want it
Antioch Model Trains and Hobby in Antioch, IL
I had a hard time finding this but it’s unavailable in amazon. My son was crying for REAL
Find it on maybe Ebay
I think without the Gates it Still Look Good.if you Can’t slow it Down the Gates.
I can build this for N scale just need the base......
Nice, but too bad they couldn't have made the gates more rectangular style like the American prototypes are. Otherwise I like it.
Caja de la estación de tren de azul y negro tomy takara de pilla
Now if they Could Slow down the Gates it would Be great.
Nice bro! I have tons of model trains too Can you check them out
If you hear nae nae nae nae nae nae nae nae nae nae nae nae nae then you have to stop the car and then when you see the train coming don't go❤❤❤🎉😊😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮 I'm so jealous and surprise
dingadingadingadingadingadingadingadinga!!!!!!
Got enough coaches? 🤣
just saying, the noise will probally get annoying eventually
Sturtevant Rail Productions, there's a volume adjuster that can allow us to turn off the volume. In addition, there's three different sounds that we could change to as well.
A-Train4014 Productions nice, i never realized those things were so nice
I like how two of the bell sounds are of actual modern electronic crossing bells, the ones from General Signal and from WCH.
Not to mention, the volume is so low you can hardly hear it.... any DCC with sound engine will drown out the crossing bell.
@@Sparky0566 Just like with real electronic crossing bells!
Dcv.
Aaaaaa

😴😴😴😴
Meh, just a recycled Japanese crossing...
Why set it at the most unrealistic sound
I think you should use other bells
Amtrak Productions, there's a switch where we can use the other three bells that Kato has installed in the crossing gate which is a personal favorite of mine. -Andrew
@@ATrain4014 Yeah, I know two of the bell sounds include the sounds of a General Signals e-bell and a WCH e-bell; they're probably the most prototypically-accurate bells on that crossing gate.
Yeah they do... But I really like your train layout keep it up !
