Do it! I just got into it a few weeks ago and I'm having a blast. It's not cheap, and there is a pretty steep learning curve, but it's also really rewarding when you start getting good at it. I was Security Forces (but I'm not an overzealous dickhead, I swear!) in the CTANG (AGR) for 10 years. We had A-10's and I fell in love with them, so I've just been flying the low fidelity A-10A for now. I spent like 3 hours slinging mavericks, rockets, and 30mm rounds at ground targets yesterday. I will probably get the F-16 as my first high fidelity module though. It just kicks so much ass, and I'm told it's more user friendly so it's easier to learn than some of the others. I'm already falling down the rabbit hole. I ordered a WinWing Orion2 HOTAS that should be arriving today.

It might just be him hamming it up a little, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's just training and muscle memory. His brain knows when you pull back on that stick, you better be ready for G's. LOL!

Its hard to see the other planes in a dogfight until your not that far away from them. Cant even imagine how scary it would be IRL if I cant even see them in a sim. Awesome vid 👍 definitely earned a sub. 🦅

Every time that I drop my tanks at the merge; I run-dry before I can return to base. Every single time. I just clutch the tanks and sacrifice agility. Sometimes I lose the wings

Lovin these video's Max ,I'm 70 ys young but this reminds me of when I was in the air cadets in uk when I was 15 and they took us up and did airobatics in a chipmunk plane, still remember g force and looping the loop like it was yesterday, not quit the same as an f-16 but terrifying none the less, keep em coming 😉

@@MaxAfterburnerusaadditionally, we can’t see the HMCS on, probably because it’s displaying in an eye that you’re not capturing. You can adjust this in DCS under “special” - you can set it to left eye, right eye, or both eyes. Set as preferred :)

Hey, what graphic settings do you use for vr? I ceep struggeling a bit with good graphic settings. Especialy for long distance vieuw
So I’ve tried VR (borrowed a friends) I was BLOWN away. BUT I had the issue of not being able to see my keyboard/mouse/HOTAS ect since I’m in VR mode. Can I ask how you (anyone) is able to work around it?
Hello, great channel,one question about your VR headset? did you have to download more than one set of software, I have seen on RUclips, that some guys are downloading more than the operating software? thinking of getting the same headset with the 512, look forward to your next video. Cheers Paul
I’ve got the Meta Quest 3 with 512, but you need the usb c cable to tether to a PC… this doesn’t run on the headset standalone… DCS too much load for it 😢
@milnez Thank you for your reply. Even with the usb cable tethered to the pc ,you still get a high-quality retail, l live in the UK here the 512 about £640 , and it looks like l will be getting one,again l enjoy your channel. 👍😄

hi Max how did you become a fighter pilot? its my dream to become one but I don't know the steps I should take to achieve it. I am a 14 year old living in Germany right now. I was thinking of trying to become a fighter pilot here but I realized it will be way harder so I am thinking of doing it in the US but the problem is that I need my citizenship for the US but that takes 5 years what should i do?
