Hi Mel. It's a pleasure to see a fellow Kenmore sewer. Your turtlenecks turned out so great. I'm also in the process of making turtlenecks so thanks for the inspiration. Btw, Kenmores are considered among the best vintage machines for general sewing and stretch fabric garment construction.
Thank you so much for watching, and for your comment! I totally agree, I love my Kenmore and find it to be so reliable. I feel so lucky to have this machine!
I really appreciaete some of you tips, like using double side tape to hold down the elastic and using the pattern to identify the center points. I will beusing these techniques the next time I make this top!
Those turtlenecks turned out beautifully! Really love the deep green colour. What model of Kenmore are you sewing on? I think a similar vintage Kenmore was recently listed for sale in my area, and I was wondering what your thoughts are on yours. Were you able to sew those green denim jeans on your Kenmore too?
Hi Sarah, I just posted about Kenmores here. Kenmore sewing machines from the 1970's are considered excellent machines. They were designed to fill the demand for a general machine that also sew knits. And are a very solid, almost all metal machine with motors that are quite powerful. There's a channel, Vintage Sewing Garage, that talks about them in several videos.
Hi Sarah! I love my vintage Kenmore, it is a model 158.15250! I have heard that most vintage Kenmores are sturdy machines! And yes I used it to see my jeans 😊
Today's video is the first sewing project of 2023! What was the first thing you sewed this year? Let me know below!
