You may have figured this out by now, but when you're working with a plaid fabric, you can trace the plaid lines on the pattern piece when you cut out the front, so the pockets can be cut out at the same point on the plaid. Likewise, you can note where the notch for connecting the sleeve on the front is located on the plaid so the sleeves also match on the same plaid. Anytime it was impossible to match, like a back with a pleat and a back yoke, I would turn the plaid on the bias so the not matching looked deliberate. It's nice to see a young woman getting into sewing!

You made so many lovely items this year. But, I also appreciate when you share the things you wish had been different or things you consider "failures", because that's just a realistic thing that happens with handmade items sometimes! Taking the learning experiences and moving forward is so important. I think your black thrift flip dress is my favorite of the garments you made in 2023, but your pink plaid blazer and that cozy coat are also fantastic. I look forward to seeing what you come up with in 2024 :)

Thank you so much for your comment! It's always important to talk about failures, because they happen! 😊

Hi. Nice overview. Regarding Marlo sweater, you can still add a binding over the back seam like rtw. You might find video on yt.

Great work! Side seam pockets are seldom an asset visually imo, good idea to switch them out.

I totally agree about side seam pockets, I will definitely be wary of them from now on. Thanks for watching!

The Ilford sleeves at the lower arm and cuffs are tight. FPC recently had a blog post on pattern adaptation for this given the background of other makers experiencing the same thing.

Oh thank you so much for this info, it is definitely helpful! I need to be better about reviewing pattern reviews before I cut out my size in case any changes are needed! Thanks for watching!

Gorgeous pieces. My favourite is the vintage dress. Perfect fabric choices and the silhouette is perfect on you.

That cutout dress is really nice and suits you well. Love the vintage inspired dress too - great fabric choice.
I love that Jalie jacket. I like to sew with lightning stitch then run it through serger or use an overlock stitch on my normal machine.
That Oslo jacket is great and quite a challenge you were able to successfully execute. Woohoo!

Thank you for your kind words about my projects! I agree about using the lightening stitch and overlock on a sewing machine, they are great alternatives if you don't have a serger (which I don't!). Thanks again for supporting my channel😊
