I had a 1975 D-100 short box with the 318 ci for 14 years, drove it in Minnesota and Oregon. I actually had to start it one morning when it was 30 degrees below zero, despite being out all night, it fired up, amazing.
Man...she did NOT like that cold at all :-) Love the side-firing exhaust though. Not to mention you rompin on the pedal bit to warm'er up. Aint no other way to wake up a cold-blooded Mopar!
love this video, i have a 77 powerwagon that has a 318 it's a 2 door long box dana rear end (don't know what the front axle is). nothing like these old Dodges.
Me and my dad have a 78 powerwagon 360 .30 over rv cam new crank edlebrok intake thurmoquad carb and a 2.25 inch y pipe thrush welded muffler angled side shot 3 inch.. It has a starter off of a 94 dodge it helped cold starting
the best results for a cold start is a good tune. I never had to rev my carb dodges, oh and i always install either block or oil warmers on the engines. I lived up in moscow with the one 72 powerwagon, i could fire it up at -13 degrees with out having to pump the crap out of them. or rev them. good video though
This is music to my ears.
