    I'm a year into being a vendor at conventions. I started with my comic book collection and just recently decided to see if people would be interested in my cards from Yu-Gi-Oh! and Pokémon. Turns out folks do like both still. I don't do it full-time, the revenue generated from it hasn't surpassed my FT job income. I recommend, test out the local shows in and around you. Try two day shows. For Collect-A-Cons... plenty of channels to watch to get a better understanding on that.

    I sell at my local flea market and I’ve had really good luck all things considered. I have some high and low value cards that sell, and I receive a high amount of traffic despite the fact that it’s not specifically a collector or tcg event. I’ve met great people and I really see it as a good way to avoid the confusion and costs of shipping. I find the in-person to be way more rewarding and also I have sold way more at my flea market than I ever have in TCGplayer or eBay. Maybe it’s impulse buys but that’s the beauty of in-person vending. I have had such success but I’ve only gone once a year since 2022. I’m going this Sunday so wish me luck!

    I vended my first card show last weekend and used your yellow table cloth idea and it worked great !! I was in the middle of a row and had many sports tables on both sides of me. I definitely think people walking by at the end of the rows would have kept walking by if my table wasn’t yellow .. thanks for the idea / tip

      best thing is to get accustomed to all the shows that go on around you as a spectator/buyer first and ask dealers questions. I get a lot of good answers to my questions about setting up in shows ranging from a simple church show a mall or even convention centers and even make friendships. Once you start to frequent shows you start to see the same stores and vendors and they start to recognize you as well and when you finally bite the bullet and set up at one, they will likely be glad to help you out and even be your first sale. I wouldn't just jump in it without a lay of the land per se. Best advice is to always price stuff 1 of 2 ways, either already 10-15% off market or exactly at market that way when someone haggles you, you can still make them feel like they are getting a deal and you're not losing on the sale. Both ways work well sometimes one way works better than the other depending on the show. Also, if you are buying or trading leading with how much you pay and how much you give for trade value is a very important tool. Say 65-70% cash or 75-80% trade value.

    that twine trick is a very smart idea especially for shows in the mall. very susceptible to people that would snatch and run at the mall rather than a dedicated convention. Ill keep that trick in mind when i finally do my first show.

    Great content! Do you have a theory as to why slabs don't move as fast as raw cards? I've heard the same from several youtuber/convention venders and I'm really curious to know why that is the case.

    • @joelsegovia6971
      @joelsegovia6971 5 месяцев назад +1

      Price! Not only that but Theres a HUGE community who dont want slabs. They want the raw card. The other factor is CGC is not as popular as others. PSA/BGS are the big names.

    • @LegendofLuke
      @LegendofLuke  5 месяцев назад +1

      I think it’s because (in my experience) the average collector does not collect slabs. There certainly are a lot of slab collectors, but this is a big hobby and I do think they are the a smaller segment of the community.

    • @XingCollectables
      @XingCollectables 5 месяцев назад +1

      most graded collectors are buying singles to grade themselves and the majority of them are in it to profit off 10s. Like others said the majority of collectors want to complete sets in a binder or want to add their favorite cards raw in their hit binders. I myself only will buy a 9 if it is less than a NM raw copy which alot of the time it isnt so I opt to just buy raw.
