That Vette is nicely done! Very Sharp and that engine sounds awesome!
Wassup chris fix
I find it funny that everyone is talking about the guy ruining the car in one way or another b/c he's rich and spoiled. I guess u all don't know who he is he's a former race car driver. In Turing car cup racing I think he can handle him self and he worked hard for his money. ignorant punks
Colton Wancho I was curious what he did to be able to write a check for a toy such as this. He sold this thing anyway, wonder what the profit was. Better yet wonder who bought it?
Colton Wancho His bio on his site makes no mention of ever having raced in any 'touring cup series'. He's been a business man, that's how you make money in 'Murica.
This shows how ahead of the game you’ve been. A 1000hp daily driver. Please start sharing your work again. Much respect Mr.Nelson 🤝
This is one of the most nostalgic videos ever. Remember watching this when it came out like it was yesterday. Crazy how far you have come. Hope to meet you one day.
I would take this over any modern supercar...
lSairexl I was about to reply same thing.
I find that folks that revolve around supercars come up short in more ways than one. Usually folks full of hubris, and spoiled rich kids.
Totally agree!
How in the hell did Duntov come up with such a cool car some 50 years ago? All the styling cues since and nobody has come up with a better body style than he did so many years ago. Only the exotic supercars have the styling that these old mid year Corvettes had. Let's go to the beach and look at the StingRay's and sharks and build a car that looks like that. Job well done and a car well ahead of it's time. The C-2 were without a doubt the best Vette's ever made.
+Michael Taylor they kinda ruined the front of this one, but who am I to judge.... Id drive the hell out of it
+Michael Taylor
Zora Arkus-Duntov did all the development work on the small block, but it was Larry Shinoda, under the direction of Bill Mitchell, that designed the body, which is, IMHO, the best of all the generations of Corvettes.
+Fullforce LTX I'd have the stainless painted black to tone it down a bit ...... then, DRIVE THE HELL OUT OF IT!!!!!
You can thank the government and people so damn worried about safety for that.
Bill Mitchell was influenced by a one-off 1955 Alfa Romeo 3500 Disco Volante, built by Boano, the Italian coachbuilder, for Argentine dictator Juan Peron, when he made the first concept car the C2 Prototype XP-720 based on the Stingray racer. The Stingray racer-concept car was designed by Pete Brock, the youngest designer to work at GM at that time, Bill Mitchell, GM Vice President of styling, and Larry Shinoda in 1959. www.corvettes.nl/gm_prototypes/xp87/index.html
Why do I keep watching these videos? I get all teary eyed every time because I don't have cars like these.
"Nothing like an ole' Sting Ray" (Street Machine/Street Rat) Love that rumble through the sidepipes, real sweet sounding! I really enjoyed this video, thx NRE
One of the most beautiful machines on the planet.
I'm in love with that car!!!!!
What a good looking custom Corvette! It was so cleanly done and the mods aren't over the top. Well done!
I watch your videos all the time. Im a mechanic studying engineering. I wish too say, you guys build great cars. They all look fantastic, sound great and seem to drive really well. This is no exception. Great work fellas keep it up!
That is one bad ass vette... great job on it!!
So beautiful! I'd like to see how it would look with a few different styles of wheels though.
Bad ass anyway you look at it though.
Ahhh Nordhoff and Mason. That brings back some memories. The things we use to drive on Fri. nights back in the 80-90's at the top of Mason. Thanks for posting!
This car is freaking gorgeous!!!! That paint is absolutely flawless!!!! And that wonderful motivation under that hood is just perfect.
side pipes sound AWESOME
+Fullforce LTX ............fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu....kkkkkkk I think I just wet myself.....love the friggin pipes...........
BEAUTIFUL PIECE
NRE mirror image setup is such a clean looking build. This car is a masterpiece. Beautiful car Sir
She's a beauty. Love everything about it. Thanks for the video brother. Vette on!
Thats one sweet ass ride
No mufflers = race, but no roll cage = not the best idea.
Oh well. Just don't unleash it in anger! Remember Paul Walker's mistake.
AWESOME CAR but if you come around my neighborhood, I'm calling the cops.
Grunchy haha you’re a fool if you think they’d do anything without probable cause and proof
shaddup fuckstick
This is one of the most gorgeous resto cars I've ever seen!
Tom does it again. Never fails to awe the crowd.
Speed in the wrong places kills innocent people.
with an immature driver, yes
Tesla 0-60mph 2.3 sec.
... unfortunately. Takes all the fun out of everything. sigh
I'm not usually a fan of modernizing old hot rods but I really like this one. Well done.
Beautiful ride. As usual. Great job guys.
meh, those rims and over the top stereo just dont belong on such a car, my opinion. Its a muscle car classic, not 50 cents ride... but thats just me
Not 50 cents ride? That is the most idiotic sh*t I've ever heard... but that's just me

I'm sure it's a concession he made for his young son. You know, high-end tunes are something he can fiddle with when he's riding shotgun, SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY pretending he's driving or trying to get attention in a parking lot waiting for dad to return. Gotta think like a boy.
It's a resto-mod. They totally belong on this car. Barely anything original on it.
Yeah whatever you just dont have any sense of style youre probably one of those "stock is best" lames
That's one of the wonderful things about life....learning something new....glad I could help....cheers..
I know who's son gonna be very happy and proud of his dad in a couple of years!
neat car.
That is one sweet ride! I love everything about it and I want one for myself.
Favorite Nelson car period! Exhaust acoustics are intoxicating.
Beautiful ride! I really like the straight side pipes - classic!
Very very nice, quality work. Love the bumper work
Amazing attention to detail. Love it!
I give it a 10/10. This is the most beautiful car ive ever seen. I actually got teary eyed watching this vid.
Over a million views, well deserved for such a beautiful car. Good job guys.
Awesome car! Great sound! Great look! Love the interior too
Probably the best looking Vette I've ever seen. Absolutely stunning.
God I love how that thing rumbles to life on the first start.
Love the sound of that thing! Fricking looks badass too!!!
This is sportscar Nirvana, awsome build ....world class skills @ Nelson Racing
I think this is by far the most badass Stingray I've ever seen.
Really awesome Sting Ray Brent. Thank you for letting all who like (especially me) take a ride in your dream, on youtube. Encore................."please give us some more"?
P.S. Thanks also to Tom Nelson for his racing engine. What a combo together. Thanks to you both.
very nice car love the sound of the engine when the turbos take off
Man alive, that car is beautiful. Normally I'd cringe at cutting up an old Vette, but I'll make an exception in this case. This is indeed way cooler than a pure original.
Beautiful! In this era of the rebirth of muscle cars, I'd love to see a 64-67 series body style resurrected!
that turbo whistle is orgasmic. beautiful car.
This is the most beautiful corvette I've ever seen !!
Cool car, nice work on the power plant.
Absolute gorgeous car! Well done!
Its one sweet ride no doubt. What ide call 'a keeper' i love how its looks modern in many regards. Great ride!
that is one badass ride period!!!! my uncle used to have one but not as tricked out all original but man that ride is freakin awesome...
that is one of the sleekest and cleanest things i have ever seen in my whole life!
and my life has been quite long so far and i've seen a lot :D
I love the sound and look of it. :)
One of my most favorite vettes, very very beautiful and sounds awesome...
The G2 was by FAR my favorite Vette. just turns my crank every time
this car is beautiful to look at, and just sounds amazing
Very elegant sleek looking vett and the engine ...
I think it could win prizes
Interior is amazing and heat shielding is also very cool
omg, this thing looks and sounds so fantastic, a total beast!
nice ride! wish it was mine! keep it up!
well you are right, wow! you learn something new every day!
Talk about a throwback video!
Props to the owner, Doesn't seem like he wants to beat the hell out of the car. A true enthusiast
Wow that's a sweet ride!
Damn, this car is beautiful!!! A 355 twin turbocharged daily driver? That's what it's all about right there!!! I need some money to come see you Tom!!! Aren't you in the San Fernando Valley?
Beautiful!! Awesome Machine, Monster Sound!
awesome, congrats to you on owning such a fine car.
Wow wow wow Nelson you're my hero thank you for building my dads first corvette into a modern piece of german car spanking work of art!! Congrats to you and you're son in the future may be i will order one to build for me!!! (American muscle)
I like how you talk about the RPM hanging around 1800 at 6:47, but the speedometer is still reading zero. I love the lack of wheel spin when you open it up, power in the right places!
That is awesome! What mirrors are those? Love the flush glass without the chrome.
so much work done to this beauty. i am in love.
well put together
that is one sick ride
wow that's nice, my dads got a 67 corvette original but that cars a beast !
Looks insane!
Love it!
Your guess is probably right or very close. Mid level FI SBC 355 should be around 400-430, then add 7 psi = mid 600s HP. Still, the car sounds spectacular and I love every mod thats done. body work, engine, suspension, interior....just all around beautiful vette!!!
Just freaking beautiful !!!
Great lob, dreamcar with so aswsome good sound. I wish I own car like this
Me too!! Forget the sound system. Just listen to it all day long.
Nice ride keep it up.
most awsome old vette ive ever seen.pure beast
Awesomely done from bumper to bumper. :)
love the sound and great car wish we had more muscle cars in the uk
That is a Gorgeous Stingray!
AWESOME!!!
beautiful corvette
nice vette i heard about nelson tuning, supposedly you guys are the masters of tuning the ls7 something like 2500hp!
The only thing I would change is the transmission, if you want to shift with a car of this caliber get a sequential.
Stunning car and NRE builds the best engines !
That Vette is sick....I want one!
Absolutely stunning
Nelson Racing Engines are creating some incredible cars. And anybody that thinks at 355 small block Chevy with *twin* turbos can't spin up 1,000 horsepower hasn't been paying attention to the progress of turbo-charged engines. Hell, look at the power output of those 1987 Buick GNXs!! With only six cylinders!! And that was 25 years ago! I'd love to have these guys build me a '67 GTO with one of their monster engines, or maybe a 1966 Chevelle!
This car is hot! building a car is art and it is up to the artist what he see! i love the creative thoughts that that went in to a 1000 hp daily driver with a old vett look! he used the best parts even down to the Kicker system! This car is a beast !!!!!!!!
Beautiful project. I want to put that same project on a C-4 Corvette with the 427 Daily driver.
Simply impressive Tom. Your engines are bad to the BONE without question.
Nice Ride~!
Thank you, I don’t like my 68 Camaro no more, lol….your car is proper my man, awesome build!!!
I agree, i think that this was very tastefully done.
sweet ride.
Wow beautifully done. Is this in Northridge?! I noticed the streets haha
