His heart got so broken over the years. Fame came and went. Age came onward. Temptations that can hurt us are everywhere. It all took its toll on him. Honestly, as a singer and artist myself, having come through death so many times, the only ONE I have found to help a battered soul is Jesus, Bubba - as I call Him. I tried alcohol, smoking stuff, sugar, hot romances and fast horses. Nothing calmed/calms me like Bubba. He is the original wild HEALER. John had this huge spiritual side. We are spiritual beings having a human experience. John's spirit lives on. I love hearing and singing his songs. 🥰
This song is the principle that we are all connected. Based on Native Nation's wisdom. Shows itself very today with current events. We are all connected as we share this planet together. The plant and animal kingdoms are to be respected. John respected this.

I was fortunate enough to see him in concert in 1984 in California in an outdoor but intimate setting. He had just divorced from his wife and was notably sad. He talked about it. I can't imagine how hard it was to sing "Annie's Song" when it was about her. It was a beautiful concert. He connected so much with his audience. I always loved his spirit. This song is so beautiful and meaningful. He was so passionate and kind. We need more of that.
