LED ZEPPELIN SWAN SONG / DRUM PLAY ALONG

- Swan Song was a piece that Zep worked on during the Physical Graffiti sessions, in 1974 but was never fully completed. Supposedly, Page envisioned it as a multi section epic with layers of guitar parts , and string pads, possibly in four parts which would have represented the four seasons. Page later resurrected parts of it for the ARMS tour in 1983 and it was recorded as Midnight Moonlight with Paul Rodgers and the Firm. I used a fan edit that I found here on RUclips as the basis for my video. The main riff alternates between 4/4 and 5/4 sections.
FYI, I changed up cymbals here and have all 602's . The 24 ride and 15 Sound Edge hats are vintage pre-serial. The 18 and 20 crashes are recent reissues. I love 'em!
Also, I changed up and did a screen split dual angle video. Yay or nay? Let me know if you dig it, or dog it.

What's your feedback on the dual angle view? Do you prefer to the two cam switching edits? Lemme know!
Personally I prefer the multiple static shots so not miss a single beat; even
a third angle from your hi-hat side would find no objection from me.
Angles are good.
@@DAGDRUM53 So , you prefer this layout?
@@BONHAMOLOGY I vote yes.
Absolutely it’s perfect. Great playing and sound G.
One of my favorite pieces Page did. I wish we could have heard it completed in those days. Ive been working on the guitar parts for some time. Lots of beautiful chords
Absolutely agreed. The Firm version is just too 80's processed sounding for my taste. It was cool to hear it live though in 83, I when I was 17... it was a very good year.
Nice overhead cam shots sweet as honey!!! YOU play so well!!! I live on RUclips!!! YOU AND TERRY'S IS MY HOME AWAY FROM HOME!!! THANKS BROTHER DRUMMER!!! GOD BLESS!!!
“Love on a wing she’s flying to me”...Midnight Moonlight #DADGAD
That was a marvelous exercise of restraint. You didn't hit a single tom throughout
and they were yearning for a bombastic fill. Another bravura performance, George.
Thanks so much D. 🙏🏼
Just perfect
Now this is one i haven't heard before......nice👌
Kit sounds great beautiful jam
You've really got the Bonzo sound George! Everything is just like Bonham! Dual Angle works good.
hey, you know... you could make an “i gotta move” cover, of zeppelin’s “lost recordings”, that would be pretty cool
G- Your kit is tuned, played and recorded exactly like Kashmir - studio/Headley Grange. Extremely well done!
That sound ! Something’s right with the world, then ! Looking forward to the PFOZ version ! Keep safe and well , A Bloke In Stoke 🙏
Thanks mate!
BONHAMOLOGY - Always a pleasure ! I’m with Dagdrums , too ! Top work !
Love the warmer sound of the B20 alloy.
Very nice.
Very nice,Thx George.
I dig dig DIG it! Thank you George 👏
I like the two cam thing you have going on here.
Nice! Really like the dual angle.
That is great.
Thanks, I meant to ask in the description if people dig it or not.
Beautiful!
Great job George! I was just playing along to this the other day from the RUclips audio track version, (not as well as you of course), and wondered if you might be doing a cover of it and here it is! Excellent way of going from 8th notes to 16ths on the hi hat around the 2:20 mark, not so easy! Love the dual camera angle too. I'm all good with it and/or going back and forth for full screen too! Thanks!
Thanks Dave, this was such a hidden gem in Zep's unreleased catalog.
hahaha so curious that some days ago i was just willing to make a swan song cover
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Hi, GREAT VIDEOS! Can you tell me what make and model sticks you use? Also , what is the stand you mount the cowbell on?: THANKS...
Thank you. I use many different kinds, depends on my mood. I tend to prefer vintage sticks. Old ProMark rock or 5a 5b. But I have old Gretsch sticks ROCK model, Gretsch 5A, Ludwig 2B, sometimes Regal 5A. The cowbell is just mounted on a cymbal stand.
Hi George HOW about some bass drum pedal clearer pictures😊 PLEASE AND THANK YOU 😊
Yes, I'll try to highlight more in the future
@@BONHAMOLOGY THANK YOU 😊
Hi George, can you post a link to the fan edit youtube video you played along to? Thank you!
