I've always thought of buying a boat to cruise with my family... but recently by your video and videos like yours gives me confidence do it thank you ❤❤❤
Very interesting! I’m guessing it would look a whole lot different after all these years. We have found Trinidad to be really beautiful and the people so friendly. Were you here for long?
@@SailingSaoirse22 It probably looks the same, though maybe there were fewer boats. I do remember hearing howler monkeys and also fishing bats at night. I was in Trinidad about 4 years living in La Brea but attending school in P-A-P. Friendly people and wonderful food. I do miss the rotis.....
Such a pity the Pelican couldn't be saved but at least he was in a warm place when he passed and was not on the beach being bashed by waves where we had found him
Hi Paul, thanks for following along. We ask ourselves that question too🤣. We have planned to leave a couple of times and then delayed for various reasons. A recent health issue put a stop to our last departure date but that is sorted now and we are preparing to leave within the next 10 days or so. 👏🏻👏🏻. Headed up to Tobago for a short while and then up through the islands. Exciting times ahead!
Yes, at Peake you are able to stay on board whilst on the hard. You get a water and electrical supply to your boat and only actually pay separately for the power if you choose to run an AC on board. AC units can be rented, but a lot of people just buy a domestic freestanding unit from Pricemart or similar, and sell it on when it's time to leave. There are always other cruisers in the yard willing to snap them up. We chose to go without because we were only hauled out for around 10 days. Whilst on the hard, you also use the showers and toilets in the yard. So it's doable to be on the hard. Flies and mosquitoes get a bit out of hand tho😆🤣
I don't watch many videos from the Caribbean because i feel like it's all the same stuff, but I clicked this time because of the allure of seeing some nature and a quiet place in the caribbean, which i wasn't sure still exists. Thanks for sharing, and for helping that poor pelican buddy at the end
Hi there - yes we have found a few out of the way places whilst here. Last weeks video showed a hike we did up a river gorge- absolutely amazing! We are with you on the - looking for places in nature, away from the madding crowd. We are planning on moving north again in a couple of weeks and then I suppose finding places like this will be more difficult - but we will make it our mission😆 Thanks for watching.
I enjoy this very much. Thanks for visiting my country Trinidad and Tobago. The waters are dark in trinidad because of the huge Orinoco river in Venezuela that lies just 7 miles from here.
We LOVE Trinidad, we are back here currently and have hauled our boat out for hurricane season. It felt like ''home" when we arrived back. Trinidad has got the friendliest locals out of all of the islands we've visited.
Yes😁 and I only realized that you called out after you had passed! Sorry we missed you. Hope we get to say goodbye before we leave. Planning to get on the move again in the next two weeks or so.

Thank u so very much for trying to help the pelican ...
It was just such a pity that we found him so late and he couldn't be saved. But at least he wasn't being washed around in the waves when it happened.😥
Unfortunately many Trinidadians do not appreciate the beauty of our country. In What condition did you find the beach at Scotland Bay.
Used to sail to Scotland Bay from the Point A Pierre “Yacht Club” back in 1975-77.

@@joetrinidad3412 the food is amazing! Howler monkeys sound totally freaky after the African monkeys we are used to. Very special memories made here
Beautiful bay. Thanks for trying to help the Pelican.

Another great video, thanks for sharing. Any reason you staying so long in Chaguaramas Bay now that the bow has been repaired?

When you were up on the hard did you sleep aboard? I am assuming no water or high voltage so no AC? Hot hot hot.

@@SailingSaoirse22 if you ever come to Canada we have nothing but empty, natural anchorages. They’re just cold 😂😌

Nothing like a good braai to put everything together. Really good video, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching -a good braai is always the cherry on top of finding lovely new places.🤣
Brilllllliant - very peaceful anchorage - thanks for sharing 👍
It’s really beautiful there. Hoping to head there for an overnight stay to dive and clean the bottom of the boat before heading to Tobago next week🤞🏻
Trinidad and Tobago is very beautiful ❤ all around our country God❤ bless Trinidad and Tobago
