If you ask me, it's not worth it, it's much better to learn from a teacher because you will know all the theories and explanation. After watching this video I can understand many things and still can learn a couple of new things.

It would depend on the style of the song? Usually, you are trying to get people TO enunciate, but this softening makes a lot of sense for this type of genre.
