I really miss CJ... I had a lot of uncertainty with this bands return. But this sounds like the dreamstate I know and love. I feel this vocalists will help get you guys back on the map! Keep bringing it
both singers are really great in this band, can't say which i love more, both are great and unique
Okay this suprised me too, didn't know the band almost broke up but honestly the song is still good and it DOES SOUND like Dream State, so hopefully they can eventually reach the level of greatness they had with their previous album.
Kudos to Aled for keeping the dream alive. Absolutely love this song, stellar comeback
I love Dream State, loved CJ and her voice brought SO much to the table. Obviously Jesse isn't CJ, but this song slaps HARD. She's got some of that grit in her voice, but also transitions into pure cleans really well. And what almost sounded like fry singing at the end? I'm honestly really impressed. This song goes hard and brings a smile to my face.
I'm sad CJ has moved on, but I'm equally as excited for the future.
Wait, is this why she looks and sounds a little different than normal, bc it's not the same "she" after all!? I'm shocked! First of all, bc cj is so good and how do you do dreamstate without her. Second, bc this chic, Jesse as you call her, is actually very similar in sound and looks that I just thought maybe cj was sick (bc Jesse's tone is more hoarse) and lost unnecessary weight or something, bc she's pretty thin in the video. I never once thought it was a totally different chic, but obviously it's a noticeable, just not enough to know for sure that it's a different artist, so they chose a great replacement for her.

They were never going to please everyone but I think this is great! Shout out to the new line-up, I'll be eagerly awaiting new releases. If Northlane can replace Adrian and go onto be as successful as they have, Dream State can do the same!

Literally listening to this on the radio (BBC RADIO 1) right now. An absolute gem of a track. The front-woman in this band is undeniably fantastic. Strong vocals, isn't afraid to use them

Losing a front woman like CJ along with the rest of the members usually means death for the band. But I'm glad they found new people along with a dope vocalist. I would love to hear Jessica do Dream State's old songs as well. Think she'll be great! Excited to see what's coming next.

Dream state opened up a gig that my then band headlined at a venue called the Parrot in wales. They were solid as, then went on to do some amazing things for a young band.
Despite the lineup change, which always rattled feathers. Jessie seems like a rad way of pushing further. Glad she’s onboard and you guys are back to it
Her voice is so so fitting for this band, I am very happy for them to have found her.

I honestly think Dream State made a great choice for their new singer. Like I know a lot of people are saying she sounds nothing like CJ but her vocal style is really similar to me. The chorus sounds like a Dream State song. The angsty screams sounds like Dream State. Like I am super impressed with this song and super impressed with their choice for their vocalist. 💛💛
If she sounded like CJ everyone would be saying "she's trying to be another CJ". Since her style is a bit different, everyone is saying the band has changed too much. I've seen this story enough times to know how it ends. There's no pleasing those.

@@megatrontomdj I'm not saying that it's bad they changed vocalsit. I'm just giving my opinion. Did I say the song or vocals are bad? No. I just said what differences I see between the two vocalists and if I had a choice I'd pick CJ. Some bands vocalists just fit like no other and that's okay. An example is Freddie Mercury; Yes Adam Lambert is great but he will not be better or as good as Freddie and that''s not because he's a bad singer. Or if you take AC/DC. Yes the vocalists they had over the years were good but others might prefer the old ones. If you prefer Jesse or you don't mind either then that's fine. No one is forcing you to have the same opinion as another person....
As I said, I like the song, I like Jesse's vocals but I preferred CJ's.

Never heard of this band or song before, but it's fuckn awesome.
I was a little worried that the band would lose their essence with the departure of 80% of the original members. However, I am really glad that is not the case.
The new members along with Aled have made a good job at not letting Dream State's identity fade away, and they now got me on the edge of my seat waiting for new music and tours.

Me too. CJ had a cool voice somewhat similar to Lacey Sturm from Flyleaf. This chick sounds generic, and I ain't likin' it!
Dream State always stood out for me amoungst the plethora of generic metalcore bands, mostly due to CJ's unique vocal style. You could always feel the true passion in her melodies.
Without taking anything away from Jessie, I suppose shifting towards a more 'Architects' style sound is a far more successful formula, albeit a less interesting one.
I always thought this band deserved more recognition than they have received in the past. With the new line-up and songwriting approach, it's easy to see this band becoming far more popular with the mainstream than they ever have been.
For those fans that are still on-board, the future looks bright.
