I would like to agree, but compared to Petrucci, Bumblefoot got maybe half qualification. Don`t get me wrong! He is a real good player, but the song structures are much more simple, compared to Dream Theater and if you take a look at the concert, when they played Lines in the sand, Bumblefoot failed completely. The rest of the band is superb...
@@klauslohrer705 I kind of agree that petrucci is abetter guitar player than Bumblefeet, but at the same time I feel like Petrucci's new work is more of the same. He already showed us what he got.

if you listen closely to each one of their songs you can hear influences from every band member's previous bands meaning each one of them really has something on the table and they sound really great!

Watched Mike over play a whole lot of DT stuff and had the chance to meet him and the rest of the DT boys here in Phx AZ back in 2003. This is the best stuff Mike's been with since then. Also seen Talas at the Penny Arcade in Rochester NY, Good stuff right here folks!! Check out Black Utopia from Derek S. very good CD.....everyone and their brother on that CD!!!
Thank you guys for putting it all together and presenting us with such a flawless work. SOA has filled up a vacuum in the Progressive Metal scene and taken it over. All of you deserved it, amazing musicians and Album.
Man!!, Portnoy is the Midas King of Progresive Metal/Rock!!! All his bands are amazing. This guys rock...the album is a materpiece. Plus Ron and Sherinian are an amazing combo!!!
Absolutely love this band!! I, as a musician, especially appreciate the fact that the little details in the video were done. For instance, the fact that all the instruments actually had cords plugged into them! I know its not a live video, but some of these bands do these videos and make it look real until you see the guitar player just blowing up a solo with no cord in the jack. It makes me nuts!!!! Good job guys.
This singer sounds like John Bush vocalist of Armored Saint and Anthrax at one time. This tune is Awesome !! And vocals are fantastic as is this band !
lead singer has a critical voice in a interesting way but I love it because he can play around with it and explore his vocals to different songs. He is special and has the band to do so....
Where's this thinking coming from that Bumblefoot is a underrated & unknown, guitarist? Seriously, that makes no sense! Ron played in Gn'R 8 years, and still currently playing with Billy Sherwood (Yes), & Carl Palmer (ELP), in the band Asia. Also rocking in SOA with JSS,Sherinian,Sheehan,Portnoy. Every single musician I named here that Bumblefoot's jamming with are the some of the greatest players in music. That's alone speaks for itself of Ron's value in music. I mean not just any guitarist can call up Carl Palmer or Billy Sheehan, and say let's jam? C'mon Man! Who cares what some YTer critic said or doesn't mention him like they do EVH, or Hendrix? Critics opinions don't mean sh!t, it's the great musicians he's plays with that speak for Ron, that are honored to jam with him. That's all that really counts? ++Peace & Rock n' Roll++ \m/(>.

Ok I have to say something. This is way better than the current Dream Theater! Sound wise and musicality. Dont get me wrong. Dream theater is talented. But sons of Apollo might be getting my money’s worth. Good job guys!!! Keep it up
I mean DT has been on a downhill since Portnoy left 10 years ago. And if you're strict, things stopped being musical and became masturbatory shredding since Rudess arrived.
Francisco Gallardo Rudess is a God. Don't throw up shit through ur fingers dude. So do u rather Derek with that distortion all the time? Take a look at Rudess' works since TSFM until nowadays, don't pretender being deaf . I have 2 say that i didn't joy the last album at all,but all the albums since Mangini joined r pretty gr8 , with a few bad songs. U guys r only Portnoy widows crying n trying 2 please Portnoy's ego here through ur comments!
Francisco Gallardo Well I feel that Octavarium was amazing and possibly their most intriguing and sound-wise connected song (hard to explain, it's like every single second/note belongs just into this song and nowhere else), I really liked Black Clouds and SFAM is probably their best work over all but despite that I agree that they never quite reached their 90s level of compositioning again (and just to make sure: this wasn't primarly caused by Rudess, this wasn't primarly caused by Portnoy or Petrucci or and other member of Dream Theater. This was just a development which the whole band has undergone. That might have been or might have not been advantaged by Rudess entering the band). They used to really build atmosphere and were almost painting pictures with their music (so 'Images and Words' really was an ingenius choice of album title) by layering sometimes comepletely incoherent tracks on each other and creating one polyphonic and still pleasingly melodic masterpiece. I feel they lost that over the years and while I loved the Astonishing, I couldn't stand their self-titled record at all (I haven't heard Illumination Theory yet though, that one's still on the list and could even save that record. Don't know; got to see) Oh and Sons of Apollo is just freaking awesome. I think we can all agree on that.
Wasn't sold from what I knew of him on the early Yngwie stuff, but yeah. Just so primal and pure somehow. And hearing his speaking voice, he should get into voice acting. Seriously.
I didn't even know this band existed until tonight. What an awesome assembly of musicians! It's been a long time since I've bought an album but it looks to be that time again. Wow!
Funny seeing Bumblefoot channeling his Slash posture from GnR years and all the dramatic gesticulation from Soto - no doubt owing to his TSO background. Nice video, good track.
Jeff only did a something like 6-7 songs with TSO, I kinda doubt that limited time with them really accounts for anything, considering he's been singing for decades.

The bass is on... Sheehan!!
Francisco Gallardo musically with Rudess it’s relaxing
Yeah this clip really help a lot..
Don't know; got to see)
Oh and Sons of Apollo is just freaking awesome. I think we can all agree on that.
The more I listen to this band the more I like them! Awesome! This is definitely an all star cast of Kick Ass Characters!!
Jeff Scott Soto DOES NOT GET OLD!
No he doesn't. One of the best voices out there!
Wasn't sold from what I knew of him on the early Yngwie stuff, but yeah. Just so primal and pure somehow. And hearing his speaking voice, he should get into voice acting. Seriously.
What a stacked outfit !!! another SUPER GROUP is born . Love it !!!!!!
Bumblefoot, thanks for this solo.
Amazing song🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
i'm in awe of bumblefoot's craft, the guitar solo is beyond words
Literally just replayed it no less than 12 times. The rhythm track doesn't hurt either. haha. The gods smiled.
Sounds like a car trying to start.......and it never does
LOVE LOVE LOVE ! ! ! Can't wait for the new album and to see them again in concert.
I didn't even know this band existed until tonight. What an awesome assembly of musicians! It's been a long time since I've bought an album but it looks to be that time again. Wow!
Is good to see Portnoy playing with great singers.... in DT never could be
I have a good feeling that this will band will turn into something big. Keep it up guys!
Excelente banda.
this whole album has been blowing me away, and this song is the icing on the cake!!!
Funny seeing Bumblefoot channeling his Slash posture from GnR years and all the dramatic gesticulation from Soto - no doubt owing to his TSO background. Nice video, good track.
yeah bumble is standing there as if he's about to walk in some church on a wedding day to play a solo. or walk out of one.
To be fair, Slash posture comes from Jimmy page
lol you guys overthink this shit waaaay too much
Jeff only did a something like 6-7 songs with TSO, I kinda doubt that limited time with them really accounts for anything, considering he's been singing for decades.
Jeff toured with TSO from 2008 to 2014, so plenty of time to pick up on theatrics. :)
Can't wait for the next show here in Curitiba Brazil 🤘🤘
3:45 BUMBLEFOOT GENIUS!
God cried of happiness when He listened to this cosmic song!!!
Música muito boa ! Excelentes músicos .
