Its great to hear other people's stories. I had my rod put in over 30 years ago when I was 21. The only thing it stops me doing is playing golf (twisting sucks) but I hate golf so all good. I also get occasional back problems because I only flex at the top and bottom. The alternative is a slowly crushed heart so I'm pretty happy I got it.

I had the surgery too n I think the recovery is the hell . Before I had my surgery I would have a lot of pain . I wanted the brace but at the time I was 18 and the doctor said it won’t help as much .

Hey there. I had the same surgery about 2o years ago as well. Did you have to have part of your sacral area shaved for a bone graft?....if so have you had any pain in that area?

Yes I did and I have no pain there at all. I think the first couple years I was sore but all that is gone.

Hey I had the same surgery, about 16 years ago, I had to have 2 of my ribs taken out to use for bone graft and as I grew there was no room for them to grow back in so they grew out and around my rib cage, also I have had alot of issues with nerve damage and also since it was crushing my heart and lungs I still have some issues there.. can you relate?

They did not have to take out any of my ribs so that part I can't relate but I do have a lot of nerve damage. They took out bone marrow from my hip but haven't had any issues with that.

@@AshleyDalton31188 that's great I'm glad your doing so well, I also have 3 children, although I have had 2 pregnancies that didn't end well, both were in my 3rd trimester and 1 was full term but I dont think that was the problem... but i am thankful for your video, I like to see the aftermath and compare it to that of mine.. I will like and sub. Thanks!
