Riva's are the most beautiful boats, very interesting to see you going through your restoration, good craftsmanship and skills, appreciate you also spending the time to record your work.
Using notched trowel at 90° to the part so there are many short hills and valleys can result in less air entrapment. Just sharing something I learned long ago. Onboard to see more of your project in the future. Peace.
Hi . Great restoration video 👏👏👏. I should have known you earlier. I have two questions. 1) Which tree did you use for the Riva spine? 2) What do you use as an adhesive?
Hello Ufuk, For the qeel (spine) we use an mahogany that call SIPO, and the adhesive is 3M 5200 glue specially made for shipbuilding, it is recommended for gluing under the waterline. Regards
Can't wait on the next episode. Beautiful filming, impressive work, great project. Do you have any resources (books, websites, whatever) on how to restorate a Riva Florida? Would be very interesting for me. And please keep posting! :)
Hello Luke, A thousand thanks for your message!! it is indeed a beautiful project that is very special to us! For documentation, we have the three books on Riva (which are sold in a box set) and items that we collect as soon as we find them. We also do a lot of research on the archives and sites of people who like ourselves are restoring the Rivas.... We don't have a website for this but we have our RUclips channel on which we will post all the restoration steps. Some are to be announced. Thank you very warmly. Stéphane
Thank you! we took a big break for the health crisis but we'll resume the restoration, a video for Christmas normally. We don't really have specialized documentation but only the three books on Riva which have plans of the building site, not the plans of the Superflorida... we try to document ourselves and to remake with the identical one by looking at models of the Sixties.
