I have an idea for such a spinoff. It would be called "Halo: Covenant" and be set as multiple campaigns based on each race of the covenant. For the grunts, a story set in the Grunt Rebellion is a good choice. You fight against the other races in a battle which you eventually lose. The elites could be anywhere, but if it can't involve fighting humans, maybe set during the San'Shyuum and Sangheili war that made the covenant, or during the great Schism against the brutes. The brutes could have you play as the Banished in a series of hit and runs on covenant facilities for tech. The Jackals would work okay for a more creepy covenant V. Flood campaign. The Hunters I see during the great Schism, maybe playing as one of the hunters from the mission Great Journey, and what they do during the battle of the Ark. Drones could be a campaign set on their homeworld as they're forced into the covenant. I can see their flight working like Halo reach jetpacks, since they can't fly forever on their homeworld due to the high gravity. If there would be a prophet campaign, they were only warriors really during their first war with the elites that forged the covenant. Did I miss any?
This was awesome. A few of these scenarios had me laughing, the brave grunt plowing over flood with a ghost touting “you no eat me” only to crash and die instantly and likely be eaten. The authenticity of how weak they are in gameplay is funny too. I love it. You should do more videos like this from the perspective of all covenant races, as well as possibly even the flood infection forms and marines
Love that the power level feels consistent with a regular grunt. In fact, assassinations should maybe be disabled if they aren't already. You could have a stock of gradually regenerating plasma grenades or something, since that's kind of the most useful thing grunts do
Considered how weak grunts are, it might be a good idea to give the player a certain amount of « grunt lives » before returning to the previous checkpoint, a bit like Battlefield. I think this is a great mod that totally adds a new dimension to this game
The POV of a Grunt seeing the demon inevitably approaching with the energy sword of an elite he just killed is more frightening and hilarious than I thought 😂😂
This is a perfect concept, and completely doable. But the grunt has to be spec ops with some kind of special shields or camo otherwise it will be too difficult to be fun as a campaign. Because yousa would literally die in 3 hits
My man's has 800ish subs and 1400ish views on this and way more on others. Just fucking subscribe already 🤝 none of that Halo Infinite copium like most channels keep posting
Someone needs to make a L4D Invasion style mod where 1 player plays through the campaign while 3 other players take control of random upcoming enemies.
I used the vanilla Grunt biped, just adjusted the camera height. Nothing else. I don’t think they say lines but you defiantly grunt and moan if you are shot sometimes.

I think I edited them in. But the playable character also has npc dialogue.
