Love how this really bridges the gap between the raw and simplistic original with the power of modern modding. Making for something that could only add to the already iconic experience.
there's literally no difference between ''modern'' modding and yesterdays modding. Yeah the game companies tried to make it harder to mod (which is illegal!) But that didn't work out too well did it.
I like that they also made the magnum not one shot hunters in this mod, they were really challenging with just that one change. It really caught me off guard when i first tried it on a hunter
That airlock bit on the Autumn is a nice callback to Halo 4’s Composer mission where you could do the same thing to the EVA Covenant trying to breach. I also like that the Gravity Gun is like the Railgun from 4/5, albeit with the jump potential too. Love the lighting change to the Library too, I’ll have to try this out.

Hi sir.. do you have any animators? I think new reload animations on ce would look so good. More realistic approach, no it doesnt mean mw animations, but just a new re imagined realistic reloads would be very fitting... @@ZurenarrhLeaning is not possible to add into CE like Rainbow as the animation system is much different, and they do not have an animating team to my knowledge, the 2 creators did it all themselves(with some tags from CE+)
Yes! This mod certainly adds a refreshing take on a stupendous FPS campaign. I tried this on Heroic, and WOW the difficulty felt almost equivalent of vanilla Legendary with Tough Luck, Mythic, & a dash of Tilted. Also I don’t think i’ve ever had to face as many Hunters than in any vanilla Halo campaign run. Still, it’s a well-made mod! Happy New Year everybody.

I love this mod, and I will stan for it for making me feel like a kid again, remembering how and why I fell in love with Halo. I'm really happy you put this mod in the spotlight, though I'm disappointed you focused on the gameplay aspect. The lore aspect of this game is what blew my mind. The mod maker read Willam Dietz' The Flood, watched the Anniversary terminals, played or watched Fireteam Raven, added Bloodblades in the moments they were actively hunting you, and made the Elites guarding holy sites as Honor Guards. For crying out loud, you have Linda on the other pod that is expelled in the first mission, find Fireteam Raven in The Pillar of Autumn and Two Betrayals, kick Zuka's ass on the PoA to then be ambushed by a Shade turret when you return at the end, and you even find the ODST that survived the Flood in The Library. Alliances are made and changed depending on lore and even time-critical factors. While this mod has its flaws, particularly in the red lightning that becomes abundant in 343 guilty Spark, The Library, and Two Betrayals (whose intention I can understand, since the author wanted to give the feeling of emergency), this mod is an absolute labor of love. When you design a game for a big company., you'll inevitably clash with company politics, budget problems, release date, and so on, and it's inevitable that can still make spectacular games such as the original Halo: CE we all fell in love with. This mod pays respect to the original, and adapts it to the new lore, while adding new stuff that players and game devs have all learned in the last 20 years, both in the gameplay as you mention and the lore. Thank you for displaying this mod. This gem is an underappreciated gem that should be treasured.
There are a lot of unique weapons you can find that are insanely fun to use better start like the elites inside your cryo pod chamber had talon of the lost better look out for them.
the simple and small additions add up. one thing I really liked was the addition of the covenant corvette hovering over your crashed escape pod on Halo. it added a sense of oppression, and being on the back foot trying to hide from their patrols
i think in Halo 2, they blew a golden opportunity to have a really strong elite become your ally for a boss fight, the mysterious zealot honor guard... that should have been intentional, and there should have been a really fun final boss fight, with a bunch of brute honor guards. Like the story could have been that the Honor Guard armor is specifically made to deflect swords, so he cant kill them himself but you have an unlimited ammo PBR, and you have to head shot the brutes when their shields are down, or he dies
Just started playing this recently and it's been a blast! So many cool additions. If you want great overhaul, without adding too many things like SPV3, this is such a great mod.
Holy cow this is a dream come true. *Opposite to this: (Halo infinite) I don't think management understand how it's okay to utilize Creative modes, Diverse sandbox game mechanics. Where u can casually play & goof off. Now they are Profiting off things that used to be included in games. Everything is over competitive and missing the fun. The lack of options, but there is always tons of things that can be bought in the store. It's shallow and hollow of modern gaming. Previous gaming used to be different. Previous games pulled us in with fun, options, catchy gameplay mechanics. Not "store items that make you cooler/better" it's just a bland soulless approach to video gaming) It's unbelievable that 343 gets so much financial support yet it seems so dead and like it's made by a team with no money and needing to find the scummiest ways to make money 💰
This is amazing. It's the kind of Halo content I want. The community is so dedicated and passionate. Lately I have watched some videos (you may know who I am referring to) about the reasons to say goodbye to a dead Halo and I honestly think they are wrong and thus are going to miss a golden era for the franchise. The best is yet to come. Thanks Mint for all the work you do to showcase how incredible this franchise is and its promising future.
Yeah, I wouldn’t worry about those videos too much. Just seems like the result of having to make stuff endlessly for people to watch. I mean, if 100 people each had a library of 100 games and made one of these anodyne videos every time they stopped playing, they could generate 10,000 videos between them that would all ultimately mean absolutely nothing. Gotta keep the ad revenue machine churning somehow, though.
Would love to see you checking out more mods! Once Ruby's Rebalanced goes up on the Steam Workshop, that'd be something worth playing -- and although it's not compatible with MCC, SPV3 is still a pretty neat standalone experience with its own fundamental overhauls. Those two and Combat Revolved are my top favorite CE mods, based on how they all handle CE in such creative ways with different design philosophies. Super Campaign is also hilarious lmao
Man i tried it. It ran awesome at first but then i tried it again and...holy hell my frame rate took a fucking nose dive and i can't fix it. Probably just time to upgrade a bit.
I tried to play it last week actually on Heroic, and the first 5 mission were tweaked perfectly, but once Flood kicks in I have no idea how to play it anymore. No shotgun is provided, ammo is scarce and fallen Flood troops rise again after a few seconds. I just ended up rushing from checkpoint to checkpoint, which wasn't particularly fun, so I gave up at the beginning of The Library. But yeah, the first five missions are amazing.
Actually this IS GREAT content and this is top quality streaming. I think THIS IS good content because is positive, shows something new, shows improvements to the old classical game we like. I like your new approach FOCUSING on content that is created by the community, modders, and developers. We need to promote IMPROVEMENTS over the old games we like and hint developers to REMAKE these old gems for games. I can fully support your channel if you carry this philosophy. In my opinion THIS IS A GREAT video.
I liked this mod a lot too, my only very minor gripe with the mod is that he made it so when you reload the shotgun, he pumps it even when its not empty. When you pump a shotgun and there is still a shell in the chamber, it will eject the perfectly good shell. So if I shoot a shell, press reload to put in 1 new shell, and Chief pumps the gun after you stick the shell in, it'd just eject a perfectly good shell realistically. Nothing major whatsoever I just found it a strange addition.

This is the type of stuff I was hoping for with HCEA. Adding all these little details and features without getting to the point of necessitating a full remake. If this had Reach level graphics it would take the official remaster's place in every way.
If you are looking for a more an even more faithful mod for CE which does similar things I highly recommend Ruby's REBALANCED Halo Combat Evolved (very underrated ngl). Does a whole lot of what this mod does in terms of new/cut content but also comes with some great balancing changes. It is honestly my favourite way to play CE.
Vanilla, SPV3, and Ruby's Rebalance is my CE holy trinity. Guaranteed enjoyment no matter which I choose for a playthrough. Honestly I think Ruby's Halo 2 rebalance is even better, though. Been waiting forever for that mod to be updated. One of the best playthroughs of Halo 2 I've ever had.
I played one of the earlier versions of Revolved and from what i remember, from Two Betrayals to The maw, the covenant and the sentinels don't fight each other, instead they team up against you and the flood. Which is weird because they in fact do fight each other in the original.
Man I really can't believe that the halo mcc community put all that effort and adding all these awesome content where modders can customize everything without getting sued. I wish you can do that on the Xbox one.
I also noticed that they did change some of the environmental stuff to make it harder to break through the game's walls Such as, without the gravity gun, you cannot skip the hanger in TNR outside of co-op. Before, you could either use the Overshield in the room to grenade jump up the floors to skip triggers, or grenade jump up a box. Both of those methods are no longer there. Boxes were added next to the Zealot's door in Silent Cartographer so the Warthog through the door skip doesn't really work (might still be able to push yourself through the window still though) Overall, the game feels much more alive now. And the increased variety of weapons is always a nice thing.
It's probably the best Halo CE campaign mod out there, but in terms of balance, it does tend to make the game less feasible on the higher difficulties for anyone other than a Halo vet simply because of the sheer increase of the number of enemies in areas at once. Heroic basically feels like Legendary+, so definitely be prepared for a challenge going in.
I have also thought that in the a few levels in halo 2 where times when the grunts (Or the marines in the Quarantine zone level) really should have allied with you
Ok, this is awesome. Also, you could try the ruby rebalance mods. They are really cool and some of them overhaul a few of the missions from the original.
You really shouldn't be buying consoles these days. Like legit. You don't even want to know how bad things are. M$ totally ruined the game. Last decent console was the PS2 and i'm not even joking. Did you know it's unironically illegal for a console company to ransom your internet connectivity behind a paywall? XBOX LIVE GOLD and PS PRO are both very illegal ransomware fraud ''models''. Problem is, when we were kids, none of us knew how to file a lawsuit. And they keep pushing the limits to the new generation cause they know none of you will file a lawsuit.
Also it's your own fault for buying a console really. You knew you were getting walled into a black box system when you did it. No mods for you because you're a tool of the industry. We can't have nice things because of your ignorance.
Combat Revolved and Ruby's Rebalance are neck and neck for best 'vanilla' Halo CE experience IMO. They're both huge improvements over the original, and came to a lot of the same conclusions for improvements and fixes, but with variations on implementation that make them unique in their own ways. Definitely give both a shot.
Imo Ruby’s rebalance does it a liiiittle bit better. It still feels like the vanilla game, while adding and improving it. By the looks of it Combat revolved does a bit too much
If you had to recommend a mod to try first (or just preferable overall currently), would it be Ruby's Combat Revolved or Halo Rebalanced? Both offer really cool stuff exclusive to each mod. I really love how Rebalanced adds fauna like the blind wolves and thornbeasts, a useable energy sword and the cut arm-shield Elite variant, while Revolved adds cut weapons with new Elite honorguard models. Maybe one day we'll get a single mod called "Halo Combat Revolved & Rebalanced" or something that combines it all one day

My right ear loved the rest of this video
I loved this mod, very much enjoyed it
Mods are the goat of gaming
ARE WE NOT GONNA TALK ABOUT HOW ON POINT THAT WAS 1:50
Ty
Gotta suck off the only 4 campaign overhaul mods before they break in the next MCC update.
my right ear really enjoyed this video :>
This was a good one, I enjoyed my playthrough of it before
Man, I really want these mods on console
We really need mods for the Xbox we’re suffering here
no you see why everyones moving or have moved to PC gaming
go grab a steam deck and try out some mods with us :)
I really wish us console players had the ability to fully enjoy what the Halo community is able to create.
Do 4k and lighting mods break the new textures?
Do you mean anniversary graphics? They’re turned off for most CE mods
@@MintBlitz in this case I mean user mods related to lighting and texture upscaling for vanilla H:CE
Maybe one day we'll get a single mod called "Halo Combat Revolved & Rebalanced" or something that combines it all one day
This is what we all need during this Great Halo Depression!
@@swpro4705 They're heading in the right directon with Infinite, no doubt. However Halo 4 and 5 were both pure trash. Not just in my opinion but the majority of all day one Halo fans think this.
Halo Infinite Forge was definitely a good one for me. Lots of creativity for creators and good maps to play.
Halo, king of kings
“The sky is the limit of my imagination” not in halo it isn’t lmao, space is your limit man
I consider Combat Revolved to be on par with Ruby's Rebalance Mod in terms of adding and remixing content into the game.
