  • This is my review and demo with the Blackstar Amped 1. Showing how it fits in my pedalboard plus allowing you to hear the comparison of tones running the cab sim to a powered speaker vs. an amp cabinet. Running the Dept 10 Dual Distortion into the Amped 1.

Thanks for a great video on the Amped 1. Your tones are awesome.
About the way you have the extension cable for the speaker output to the cab:
    The manual states:
NOTE: If the speaker lead is disconnected at the amplifier end then your AMPED
pedal will automatically switch to a safe, low power consumption mode. Therefore,
for example, if you wish to record using the output from either the XLR, stereo jack,
or USB, then you can set it on your desk without any need to be connected to a
    speaker load.
*IMPORTANT NOTE:* The protection sensing is at the speaker output jacks on the
unit. *Do not disconnect at the speaker end only.* Disconnect at the amp!
Also, you should never use a screened, normal guitar cable (like the adapter you are using) for the speaker output connection.
    The manual states:
NOTE: Always use a good quality speaker cable for speaker outputs.

Nice demo, good playing! So if I wanted to hook up my Mooer 005 little preamp pedal to this, it in it through the effects loop send/return line and put the clean/clear settings on the amp response and neutral mode?

The xlr on this side bothers me a bit too- i use a patchcabel from the lineout to a splitter/DI to Save some space next to the blackstar

Hello, I just bought the Amped 2 and love it. Tell me how did you attach the Amped 1 to your board, just velcro?

hard to see your moniotr, so I can run this to my heardush powerd monitor ,just use the Balanced XLR to it? Wasn't sure if it would damage either unit since they are both powered.

To be clear the Blackstar Amped 1 is running to an audio interface which is plugged into a powered monitor. It’s the same concept as plugging the Blackstar directly to a PA mixing board. So yeah it’s best to run a powered unit to a none powered unit before running it into another powered unit.

Hi.where abouts have you got the sy1 boss pedal in the chain? Great video BTW.👍

Thank you. Generally you want to put the synth pedal in the beginning of the chain. Although my SY1 is closer to the beginning I am running it using the Send and Return which is a great feature because it makes the tones from the pedal stand out more rather than it being blending in under my distortion pedal.

Are you running the boost pedal in the FX loop or straight into the Amped 1?

Yes my volume boost, delay/ reverb and noise gate are all running from the effects loop.
